Signing a 2 and a half year deal, only to go out on loan for a year seems a bit... odd. I like the idea but would expect at least one more year on the deal no?

Gets 18 months for us to have a look at him in English football once he gets his visa stamped. Suppose we make a decision whether to extend or not in that period.

I get that, but if he's any good he could be straight out of the door. 6 months to prove himself, then by that point there's a year left on the contract and the club's not in a great place to negotiate.

TWT of course, as I say, really like the intent!

Just read this on Twitter, had to translate it..

Hull City indicates Yuriel Celi's one-year loan to Universitario, but it should be noted that in the agreement, the second year of loan is indicated as possible if the player meets certain requirements or not that allow the player to play In England

I think someone on here said something similar a few days ago. If this is indeed true, we must have another year or 2 extension in the deal. There's no way you'd sign a player for 2.5 years and then loan him out for 2 years to get his work permit, and then let him walk away 6 months later on a free.

Presumably we have an option for a 3rd year subject to him getting the caps he needs for a visa.

I'd assume its a relatively low risk speculative one. I doubt we would be paying 6 figures - either that like you say there are extension clauses or the bulk of the fee becomes payable when he can actually play for us.

It'll be interesting to see how the deal is actually structured.

Seems to be a clear eye on 'succession planning' in the recruitment policy these days. We've rarely seen that at our club in the past. Not at this level anyway.

Long may it continue

I used to thoroughly enjoy SKY's coverage of transfer deadline day activities when the cameras would report live from outside the stadiums. The capers of the local chavs was a sight to behold. Happy days.

But why is Andre Agassi giving his views on the deadline deals, didn’t realise he had such a passion for the beautiful game.
