Really don’t get the clamour for Connolly he had one good game. He’s not the only striker out there who runs the channels and presses

Why do people keep saying that? He was fantastic against Sheff Utd and then had an outstanding game against QPR. Was great against Stoke too pre-injury. It's not like it was a one off good display and average in his other games.

No... Our passing back to goalkeeper always breaks down on the left hand side. Greaves is just as culpable when he plays there too.

If Greaves is just as culpable does it perhaps suggest it's not an Elder issue? I also don't notice this supposed breakdown.

He was alright in those other games, also missed sitters in both. If we are serious about being at the other end of the table, we should be looking for better. He showed us what we are missing in a striker but will he consistently get us goals? Track record suggests he could go off the boil at any stage too. Another loan I’m all for it, but we should be aiming higher

He'll pitch in with goals, more than that he'll be an absolute **** to play against and create chances for others by hassling and niggling at defenders - we have no-one else like him.

Agreed. But he's played 7 games in 4 months.

That's the big question mark for me.

If it's loan to buy then fair enough, but surely Connolly would be much cheaper to buy now than after a good season with us. We look a different prospect with him on the pitch.

He only has a year left on his current deal, so any new loan agreement would have to factor that in.
