Why is it unlikely? We're just working on Ashby aren't we? The other 3 are done.

I think they were hoping for 2 more not one.

I've suggested before that Slater was one that just made sense to the new owners despite him being an Allam target. I think Longman was opportunistic also.

I'm sure if our business was done then Baz would be reporting it.
 
Aye I think it was forced upon us due to interest from elsewhere.

It certainly was put across as 4 new signings and that was after Slater.

The direct quote from Acun was "Up to four signings". People can split hairs over whether someone signing permanently is a signing, but he never said there would be 4 new signings.

I suspect someone else bid for him and we've decided to match it to keep him here.

We've been linked with right backs and wide right midfielders fairly consistently.

I'm sure they're still after 1 of each - but whether we land them or not will depend on who wants to sign and for what money.

No point bringing in for the sake of numbers. They're gonna have to add to the squad otherwise we're better off waiting til summer.
