At least you can see Acun’s personality and passion for football in Pesic’s statement.
So, just be patient and believe in Acun’s actions.

btw there are rumours for Babel but this seems impossible for me. He has a way too much wage at Galatasaray now.
Don't worry about babel...We're always babbling on about something on here!!:emoticon-0100-smile

I'm not unhappy with the demise of McCann and the influx of new players, Grant has shown that the championship is a step above his tactical ability and he struggles to achieve any consistency in performance, although its better than 2019/2020 season. I am however also quite apprehensive about the suggested influx of Turkish based players. Its hard to conceive that the Turkish leagues are, and have been an under scouted pool of talented players all waiting for their chance at the big time. We all know with bitter experience that this division is probably one of the hardest in domestic football. On their day anyone can beat anyone and players can get found out quickly. Its great the management team are looking beyond the norm but I hope the new owner doesn't forget that this is not his team, the manager picks the team and identifies the players he needs, regardless of location, not the owner.

Slater coming in allays some fears, but yes I would like a few more local links.

As much as I’d love it, we can’t go up to the premier league with 11 local players…we just don’t produce that many so have to look for players abroad that are cheaper.

Pushing for promotion with 2 in the starting line up would still be great if you compare that to other PL teams that aren’t in the top 6.

Do we not?

How many players have been in our academy currently playing in the top 4 divisions?

3 currently playing regularly in the premier league? (Although that would include Bowen which is debatable, Daniel James counts for sure).

We have a cracking set of youngsters that are coming through right now, if they don't get the chance here I'm almost certain they'll thrive elsewhere.
Before I moved to the NE, I watched most of the u23 games and they just seem to be getting better and better. KLP, Greaves and Fleming currently, with about 5/6 lads who definitely have the potential to follow their foot steps.

16-18 is prime years for development, no ones made it at 16, Bowen counts for sure.

Agreed and I'd really like further investment in the Academy.

I sincerely hope Tan and him team also have some realistic targets lined up who are likely to actually want to play for us for the remainder of this season.

I think it's great that the new regime are thinking big in terms of signings but we are currently a team at the wrong and of the Championship with the scoring problem.

Meanwhile page one of this thread is awaiting it's first update and it's the 24th of January.

so the confusion remains, it would appear the embargo is still in place. Let’s hope it gets lifted asap.
Why did we all think it got removed as part of the sale / transfer???

Because he promised signings in he Sky interview, so you'd presume it was sorted.

Or he was planning to sort it as soon as he could........

There's just way too much reporting of twitter posts IMHO. In the HDM story saying we are in for Ryan Babel (who's 35 now!) they say we are closing in on Pesic for £2m directly above a link to a story saying why he's not coming. Then below that we are in for £5m to bring in Sayyadnaesh?!?!
