It’s quite funny
If the Allams targets were slater and this allhayar this board would be in meltdown <laugh><laugh>
I would agree with this. Only one thing. The Allams had no targets and didn't plan on doing anything every again. So Acun actually having targets and pursuing them is refreshing.

35 year old Ryan Babel ?

Championship team Hull City, bought by Acun Ilıcalı, is seriously interested in Ryan Babel, who is not in Galatasaray's match squad today. It's just a matter of time before the transfer is complete.

He was very decent in the Premier League for Fulham a 3 years ago, good player to bring off the bench maybe but wouldn't be bothered if it didn't happen. Hopefully the type of forward who'd help KLP grow into the player we all want him too..

Well welcome to the board but what a bizarre thing to say. If we weren’t been sold of course they would have just like they did in the summer. You might not agree with them but they would have

Slater is signing on a 2.5yr deal with a club option for a further year, and we’re paying a nominal 5 figure sum for him. Sell on clause for Sheff Utd in there too.

I like Baz but his reporting today has been haphazard. He said that we were still under an embargo or he thought so. Yet we're signing Slater for a transfer fee so it's obviously gone. He's now also saying we're hoping to sign Allahyar but there's a bit of work to be done. No mention of Hugill but he said that was a goer earlier and Grant confirmed we aren't in for Sims who he reported would be signing.

Like anyone he can only pass on what he's been told or led to believe.

Very very confusing all of this.
  • New Owner has attended two games, one as the owner, yet he has not talked to Grant/Cliff - interpret that as a snub & you two are to be replaced.
  • Grant/Cliff wants particular recruits, e.g. Slater, and this seems to be proceeding - difficult to reconcile this with our new regime and the snub (see above)
  • Various Eastern European & Middle Eastern players being linked to the club - suggests that new regime is making decisions on recruitment rather than Grant/Cliff (who clearly would have never been looking for recruits beyond these shores). Or, maybe all these Turkish tweets are just speculation, an excitable callow youth reaction to having one of their own owing a club in UK.

Is the club in some sort of surreal hybrid mode? Has Tan the Man cozied down with Grant/Cliff to decide the future, with Acun taking a backseat hands-off approach? Has Tan the Man definitely talked to Grant/Cliff?

    Very confusing, very confusing

Not confusing at all.
Grant McCann briefly met Acun after the Blackburn game and there are plans for meetings going forward.
