Conjecture but a logical theory. McCann stays till summer. 2 or 3 signings along the lines of Slater to see us stay safe this season. Work behind the scenes between now and summer window to a) try to tie down the players he wants to keep b) prepare for new manager ready for preseason c) prepare for new overseas signings (given complications of visas, existing wage structure, team spirit, etc). Meaning, the revolution starts in practice this summer, with new budget, new wage structure, new coaching team and first of overseas arrivals, but a lot of preparations done from now to really hit the ground running this next preseason.

So pretty much what some of us have been saying for weeks now, it's the most logical thing to do

This is all confusing as ****! I thought the EFL loan had been repaid as part of the takeover??

I thought we were free to sign any player we choose?
I think we all assumed the loan would be repaid as part of the takeover. Maybe it has, maybe it hasn't, maybe it's going to be. I don't think there's been an official statement regarding the status of this loan. So, really, we just don't know.
Talk of buying this player or that could be media-talk, it could be offers pending loan being paid off, maybe as Highpeak suggested earlier they're on a loan-to-buy basis.
We'll find out soon enough, if the club chooses to tell us.

Sure, and then others have said we'll be amazed by the players walking through the door and they'll be big money signings. Hard to know who is the most ITK at the moment.

You can still be amazing by a player/s that come in this window and at the same time plan for the summer etc for the bigger rebuild

Definitely, but I think the crux of the post you originally responded to was bringing in Slater and players like that this window - i.e. cheap players.

At the moment it feels like we just don't know, all we can go off is what Acun said to Sky - that they would be bringing in good players this window, and see what happens.

I’m going to take a stab at… nobody.

The manager hasn’t even met the owner yet for christs sake so how anyone on here can claim to know what’s going on is…. Yeah.

People just like to feel important.

Because Kesler, the DoF would be making signings? If we're signing Slater obviously we don't need Grant meeting Acun for signings..

Nothing, just his perception of what’s real and what’s pretend is obviously compromised.

With respect, even if you're speaking tongue in cheek I think that's a pretty weak rationale. I can't stand wrestling but enjoy plenty of other make believe tv shows.
