Think Ryan himself would have decided where he wanted to go or otherwise. Clearly wanted to stay at City.

I posted a message a while back from someone who had met his Dad outside the ground a few weeks ago, I think it was the Everton game. His father said he loved it up here, people were so friendly and the players were a great bunch of lads. I suspect you are right.

So, who comes straight in to the starting 11 against Preston?
What would everyone’s preferred selection be?

I think it depends on training this week.

From the Swansea game, the only one I think is at risk is Longman, thought he was pretty quiet.

Didn't think KLP had a good game either minus the goal. I know he's not great defensively but I do prefer him at wing back as he gets more space

So maybe either of those 2 but it's harsh.

If any of the new lads look red hot this week in training I'd start them.

Hard to say when we don't know if Honeyman's fit and we don't know much about Forss, Sayyadmanesh and Walsh. We've also got 2 games a week this month so a bit of rotation might be in order. On paper the Preston game might be one of the less challenging games coming up (he says hopefully...) so maybe Walsh gets a run out? Ideally I'd like the same side that beat Bournemouth but I don't think Williams is fit yet so who knows. TWT.

Afraid Williams is out for about 10 weeks. Tough for the lad as he was just beginning to make a strong impression and looked comfortable as a wing back I thought.

Right

So we got the passing mobile midfielder I wanted , let’s hope his best years are with us , so often in the past we get them before their good or after!!

he's only just 24, and the video mentions him being 23 when he joined swansea last summer, so potentially a decent length of time here. i did notice soon after we beat swansea that someone had mentioned him on the match thread being their best player.

10 weeks? That's pretty much his season over then, I feel for him and he's a definite loss to the squad.

I wonder how much Pennock influence on picking the team as Shota doesn't have a number 2 yet and as I understand Pennock is helping out and might like to see some of his youth protege coming through or having regular places in the team

If a change were to be made, I'd reckon Fleming would drop out (harsh), KLP to wingback and Sayyad up top with Eaves, I would expect the same 11 to start, with pretty early subs to get some of the new lads involved tho

I'm not so sure Fleming would be the one to miss out, he brought a balance to the side. Having a right footed left sided wing back, loses the option of the left footed accurate cross, as with the first goal.

I’ve always thought Fleming deserved a run of games last season when Elder was going through a poor spell. I’d like to see him be our first-choice left-back for the foreseeable. Elder’s alright but he’s a bit limited as a player. I wouldn’t be bothered if he went in the summer and I can imagine him ending up wherever McCann ends up.

I agree with you.

Each to their own but I find them quite fascinating and educational so I am in favour of them remaining. Particularly if they help improve the standard of grammer used on the board.
I think you will find that it is spelt grammar. Happy to help old chap.
