Ive got mixed feelings about him and Davies.
Both reliable players who have made solid contributions this season, but neither have really kicked on and made themselves undroppable. Quite a few players in that bracket.
Both great players to have in the squad though.
I think £6M would be hard to turn down.

BBM's desire for a small, tight knit, squad does cause a few issues. And will do again next season.
You could see how Giles' loan could help elevate him to the 1st team next year, but if we sign another LB along side Bagan, will there be space for him? Same for Dak in a congested midfield.
Maybe it is prudent to allow a couple players to leave to create some headroom.
I'd rather us not introduce risk to our promotion push though. Maybe the summer is the time for a re-jig, not now.
£6M is a healthy wedge though amd Tanner's return helps mitigate the risk.
£6M is not considered a healthy wedge in Llandaff Village pal, unless it’s for one of his legs. Ask Billy we’ve been underselling our players for decades…was hoping we’d changed. Remember Kanga…gave him away FFS?

I agree with all that you said,Rambo was a good example 5 million to arsenal absolutly criminal.

I agree with you Will - in hindsight.

It was all pre Tan era and we were struggling financially big time. We were broke, on our arses, and had HMRC serving winding up petition. Ridsdale for all his faults was swatting away the writs.

Rambo at his age then was worth at least twice that 5 mill, but we took what we could get to effectively stave off the Swansea disease.

I read somewhere that we let him go to Arsenal rather than Manure as the latter wanted to pay in instalments and the former paid it all up front.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

That's from some oik who is just a City supporter with no connection to the club guessing at the figure in his opinion it would take to get him.

The Blades have looked at Ashford before and that's the basis of his assumption. City haven't even discussed his departure let alone quoted a figure.

The hope I seem to recall was Arsenal would loan him back to us for a season

It has happened as it was always a possible problem - unless by some miracle Salech isn’t badly injured City need to use what’s left of the window to secure a replacement as clearly Robinson can’t lead the line.

Whilst he’s at it as I mentioned in the game thread he can get a winger with pace, 2 preferably.

The Salford winger Kelly N'Mai seems a favourite. Contract up on June, Transfer Market estimate a £250k to £280k price.
