I just wonder how much control/influence Harris has actually got over all this. No significant incomings (and I'm not talking about some lower league wannabes) would suggest to me that this is being allowed to run until the summer.
Loan target - Connor Wickham from Palace - career history 235 games, 50 goals. Hardly a goal machine but from what I have seen of him he is a big guy who puts himself about. Downside, due to injuries not played much since 2016 and largely ignored by Palace this season. If fit, probably better than what we have. Thoughts?
WRT Connor Wickham, if fit he'd be a good acquisition for the club. Keeping him fit may be the problem. WoL raved about Vaulks the other day, saying he would be the saviour due to his performance in the recent Reading game. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see any incoming players this window. Treading water at the moment, as long as we keep the old noggin above water and see what happens in the summer.
Makes sense. Always call on the youngster on loan at Barry if needed. Another few grand off the wage bill.
WoL reporting Isaac Success on loan from Watford? Hasn't lived up to his name. Looks another Niasse to me.
Are we under a transfer umbongo and no one has told us? Seems like it. Have we not paid HMRC again? Looks like we are struggling to find someone now. WoL talking about Jordon Rhodes from the Wendies. He has been around so long I thought he was older than 29. A prolific scorer until 2015/16. Since then 105 league games and only 20 goals
Rhodes, Wickham and Clarke- Harris touted as possibilities. Not the quick winger and/or the box to box creative midfielder needed to strengthen the team then.
Looks like Bogle is off to Den Haag on loan to the end of the season. That's another £5 per week off the wage bill. Alan Pardew is the manager. With his track record, Bogle had better watch out if he has an attractive wife. WoL also says Wickham going to Wendies. Not much left for us. Isaac Lackofsuccess, the guy from the Gas or Jordan Rhodes. When Bogle goes we only have Ward, Glatzel and Pato to play up top. Could use Flint there I suppose.
That was out of the blue. Not a bad thing. An Australian international, aged 25, has played Prem, 5 times each for Liverpool and Bournemouth. Been on loan to Seattle Sounders in MLS for last year and played over 30 times. A chance for him to put himself in the shop window and, as has been said, much needed competition for Bennett. I have messaged my brother in law, a Cherries fan, for his views although with only 5 appearances he might not have much to say. I think Smith got injured early on in his time at Bournemouth. Now where's the bloody box to box mf and striker?
Brother in law says from what he has seen (not a lot) Smith is a steady player, gets up and down well. Was out injured for a few months shortly after signing for them hence few appearances and loan to MLS.
