Carillo doesn't impress me much and I'm not sure he'd have the right temperament or even be adequately prepared for the physicality of the PL.
Tbh I'd much prefer us to take a punt on a young championship player such as Bowen from Hull. He seems to have the right attitude, can play across the front three, has no trouble scoring (11 in 25) and has only just turned 21.
Not to mention Adkins is now the manager of Hull...
Trying to avoid doing any work, so decided to revisit some of my old (limited) posts and came across this one from Jan 2018.
Seems unusually insightful for me considering how much of a flop Carillo was but also that Bowen was only signed by West Ham in Jan this year for £20m (?!).
Since then he's played 12 times and scored once. That goal coming on his debut against us in February
Who from the Championship (or from the lower leagues) who would you take now?
