They did, and it needs to be remembered that the level of Premier League experience in that team was very limited. They looked like they should be relegation fodder. Let's face it, most promoted teams are (didn't champions Reading go straight back down?) and the stats show that they were only 5 points above the relegation zone at the end of the season. I don't recall feeling too worried, even after Arsenal took us apart at their place. Would worry lines have appeared had Adkins stayed on? No-one can say for sure, but given what we have seen Poch do since his time here it was an inspired decision to risk the wrath of the fans. I'm happy to credit Poch with turning Saints into a decent PL team. It's bizarre that this time the board seem reluctant to make a decision that would have us dancing in the streets. Mind you, that decision would involve a) admitting that the managerial swap last summer was a **** up and b) a number finding swords on which to fall.
The melt down on here when it was played four lost four .....
Not a lot changes around
