We did buy Hoedt. However, it's evident that Hoedt, Stephens and Yoshida are well below-average as a combination. We aren't really in a position to leave well below-average alone. And yes, defending is something you do as a team. We actually defend as a team reasonably well. However, our CBs commit an awfully large number of unforced individual errors, which have cost us quite a few points, and the sitting mid and keeper can't really do much about that.
I'm slightly more worried about if Forster ends up between the sticks again, Bedarnek doesn't look that bad as a back up either.
I was playing FIFA with my lad today and I was a Norwegian team... I had this CB playing for me called Forren Just saying
Hoedt has not hit the ground running and Stephens is needing some nore experience but if there's any area of the pitch I will accept the VVD negative influence it has to be the CB pairing. Stephens and Yosh were good for most of last season. Hoedt came in looking good but they havent had a chance to settle and bond yet. There's not the chemistry inplace as a centreback team but I think it will come with time and a bit less pressure. Whether you think that will happen this season is another matter. Goals going in will help as much as keeping them out. The main thing I have seen recently has been rushed, slightly panicky defending. Too many scuffed clearances landing in our half at the feet of attacking midfielders. Previously we would have played it out or got well rid. A bit more calm required.
Didn't say anything about Van Dijk did I? Calling Gardos a player is insulting to non league players at this point
Totally agree. This is a bullshit rumour site but if he is on 135k a week I dont see it happening. If it does happen and he signs for a massive pay cut he will be gone in 12months. I will take that now because we are desperate. https://www.footballfancast.com/pre...y-promes-to-take-a-pay-cut-to-secure-30m-deal
And a seeming lack of communication. As Beefy said, no one takes charge, and it often ends with both CBs assuming that the other will pick up someone.
