Norwich City have agreed a deal in principle with Everton for the £8m purchase of Steven Naismith having revived interest first expressed in the summer, though they face competition from a number of rival Premier League clubs to secure the Scotland international.

Sunderland, Swansea City, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have indicated an interest in the Scot

I would well be happy with Naismith and really disappointed if one of our relegation rivals signs him...

seems like some of these clubs are prepared to take the gamble and splash some cash...will es?

He has to spend, mate. I've got a feeling we will be seeing 4 or 5 players coming in, maybe also Pickford being recalled. I also think we will get rid of 2 or 3 players as well. Sam has already said we have 2 players more or less guaranteed to sign and the window hasn't opened yet.

The sad state of affairs that we are at the moment is that I would actually sign Crouch and Sidwell from Stoke at the same time. (I never ever thought I would write these words). If you are going to hump the ball up field then you may as well have someone there who can hold onto it. Sidwell is a fit up and down midfielder and we just seem to be getting overrun in midfield every game no matter what numbers we put in there.

Sunderland have made a move to sign Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro, HITC Sport understands.

The 26-year-old Brazilian joined QPR from Tottenham Hotspur in 2014 for a transfer fee worth £10 million, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Sandro failed to help keep QPR in the Premier League and since their relegation he has been looking to move back to the English top flight.

Now Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has highlighted Sandro as one of the number of signings he wants to make in the January transfer window.

QPR are open to the prospect of Sandro leaving given he is one of their highest earners, and they would be able to utilise the money elsewhere and give new boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink more flexibility to re-work his squad.

Be happy with that like..

As long s Sandro is not on £250,000 a week I would take him ! Crouch can be excellent on his day so I would have him as well.

He is not happy at City, we need to stay in this division this season, so throw him a bucket load of cash and see what happens. Imagine him and Austin together, they'd keep us in the division along with a defender or two.
Would love to see this but will never happen, that would cost us somewhere in the region of 30m unless Bony came in on a loan. Then we need at least two defenders, I would say three a LB,CH and a RB is key then would call back Giaccherini back from Italy.
