I guess it's a bit like Honeyman and Doc. We've seen Doc, play as the more defensive midfielder, his usual box to box, and as an attacking midfielder. If we're bringing in 2 midfielders, it doesn't say much for Slater either. If I'm honest, I'm not sure Slater is taking up cap room or not, he was 21 in September but I'm not sure and can't find out how the u21 rules work for the wage cap
Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of full-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Manchester United for a fee in the region of £1.5million.
As soon as C Jones is back, I'd agree. If we're bringing in 2, there's not going to be loads of game time regardless. Must say, for the 2nd transfer window in a row, it's starting to feel like we aren't messing around. We're targeting good players in positions we badly need, yet also looking towards the medium/long term too
I suppose if McCann is going to get any credit from me, at least he is giving youth team players opportunities - which I like and fully endorse.
It's not an easy balance though, still expected to win most games and play youth. The academy is looking bright, it was a massive shame to see Bonds have a bad injury at Cheltenham as he'd have had a big season there. James Berry getting a bad injury has opened the door in senior football for Billy Chadwick too
His goalscoring record is a fraction of that offered by Eaves and Magennis. He's a 4 goals a season man.
