He definitely favours the left prg ... but I'm not convinced he'll be played wide he has a real eye for goal and I could see him being paired with a guy with a big physical presence and who can hold it up and also link play ... perhaps a very experienced ex-England International coming in on a free with a middle name synonymous with Sir Walter Scott .....

Michael Ivanhoe Owen? <yikes>

That was the point I made in the other thread about Vardy - he has no experience of league football - not even as a trainee - every other player that has made the jump has.

He is a risk and an expensive one at that considering the prices above.

Hopefully he will prove me wrong if he comes here, but I'm not putting any money on it.

At £1M the risk is minimal.

If you spend lots of £ there is no guarantee that they will be a success:
Shevchenko (£30.8M Milan to Chelsea)
Jordan Henderson (£20M Sunderland to Liverpool)
Andy Carrol (£35M Newcastle to Liverpool)
Fernando Torres (£50M Liverpool to Chelsea)

Not to mention Mills and Akinbadbuy to Leicester!

If you have pace, a good first touch and can finish you will score goals in any league. If Nigel didnt think he was worth it he wouldnt of signed him. We tried to sign him in Jan so Nigel has been watching him for a long time and he will know if he is good enough. There was alot of interest in him from the championship so it just shows Nigel isnt the only one who rates him

I respect malky mackay's eye for a player..cardiff were in for him..

"I always give 110 per cent and a lot of hard work. I won't stop running and hopefully with that the goals will come."

That sort of attitude will be music to the ears of the Blue Army, who will always warm to the efforts of any player ready to give everything for the City cause.
Yep, thats definatly what i like to hear, him and Nuge pressing misplaced passses out of the back 4 looks promising.

...think the biggest thing singing players like Mr Vardie is that he is hungry to play, make a name for himself, going to work hard EVERY game unlike some, will lsiten and keen to learn as he has no ego to get in the way... great signing, I wish him all the very best, a hard working young player who's knows where the net is... spot on Nigel...
