Off Topic James Rodriguez

I watched the Everton/spuds game yesterday and I know the commentators were ****ing themselves off to James, but honestly it was such a poor game (mainly by Spurs) that he didn't have to do much to standout.

I expect him to be hit or miss, like he's been ever since he went to Real. Some games he'll be outstanding and others he'll go missing, its the reason he's ended up at Everton (no offence to Everton) rather than staying with Real or Bayern.
I would say for £20m its a good transfer for Everton, but I'm not bothered he never came to us.

He's basically another Sigurdsson. A bit of quality now and then but ultimately amounts to nothing. They should have used the money on a younger player with real potential.

When he was linked with us a few years ago the general consensus among our fans was no thanks. 6 years ago maybe but as Roger said above there's a reason he's at Everton. He's just the latest in their quick fix strategy, not the future.

He went to Everton, I am pretty sure anyone decent could have signed him. Anyone who finished in the top 10 across European leagues.

Still think he is decent, but really needs to build his name again.

Really? Is that why he was wearing the Ev shirt?<laugh>

He went to Everton because of Carlo who’s he worked with twice before and who he greatly respects. So to say he could have gone to any top 10 side across numerous leagues is simply not true. The bloke turned down a permanent move to Bayern a year ago.

He’s top drawer, and showed that even without genuine match fitness he can cut it here, as he created 5 chances yesterday.

He's not top drawer Tobes, you don't pick up top draw for £20m.
But I do think Ancelotti could find something in James that has been missing, maybe its confidence, maybe match fitness or a combination
of things.

It was £12m as it goes, and he most definitely is top drawer, it’s not even a debate.

Carlo, simple as that. Both him and Allan wouldn’t have looked at us twice without Carlo being our manager.

That’s literally it.
I believe that yeah, that's the high regard that he is held in and rightly so. Ancelotti is a 'top draw' manager you might say.

'Top draw' is the cream of European football.............but James ain't that, and never has been.........sorry

Shows just how far Man Utd have fallen that Everton now have to look abroad for their rejects.

That’s your opinion, you’re welcome to it. Many would disagree, including me.
