Here, there, everywhere.
Rumours on Twitter that we are going to sign James Perch. Nothing solid in terms of sources from what I can see, and certainly no ITK, so worth being sceptical at this stage, but thought I would share it for those not on Twitter.

If true, would make sense from all perspectives. I imagine Wigan need fresh blood and to adjust budgets for League 1. We need a RB and I would feel more confident about the season ahead with one or two proven championship performers with strong experience. At 29, Perch certainly brings that and should have a few good years left. Good new challenge for Perch too, and you can understand him not wanting to drop down to L1 having performed well in the Premiership for Newcastle.

Not exactly the world's most exciting signing, but potentially a very sensible one.

Edit - it's becoming a bit of a habit for us to sign solid, if unspectacular, right-backs who have played for Newcastle. Ramage, Simpson, perhaps Perch now too!

Nooooo! Ramage was not a RB! That was the curse of his career at QPR, being played at RB when he was really a CB. The few times he played at CB for us he was great. RB he was so so (but worked extremely hard).
