Have to give a massive big up to James for writing a quick letter to the wee lad about a story he wrote and calling into his school today for a picture. He maybe the only Sunderland fan in his school but today he is ten foot tall and it has made his Christmas - much respect..

Topper that mind, lad looks well chuffed...

He should have telt JM he has his hat on backwards mind, can't even see the badge.

Great pic mate.

maybe if he spent less time writing letters and more time practiscing his crossing and shooting we might not be near the foot of the table!

His heart is in the right place on and off the field Derry. He needs to control his temper and get his head in the right place on and off the field.I would love it if he does.

See! He is young. Not a heartless twat (like some people were saying). Decent player worth keeping.

If your going to spoil a thread, at least don't choose a family one <ok>

Well said lad and well done Jimmy.

I still have my doubts whether he is just a half season wonder that has been found out now but I'd be chuffed to be proved wrong.

Nice touch by him, but good manners cost nothing and to make that effort for the kid is totally commendable, especially at Christmas.

I didn't get to meet him mate but the wife did. Everyone that knows the lad says he is a quiet, genuine, down to earth lad who always has time for people and lives for football. This is why I speak up when I read some of the nonsense written about him especially with what he has had to put up with.

There's tales galore going around about him going 'big time' and that, yet there's been a few similar stories on here now of the lad being nowt but decent.

Always has to be one it's a cancer of our fans sadly, always one.
