Deserves his own thread. What an absolute champion. Not just for the penalties (which admittedly were atrocious) but for save after save that kept us in the match. Not sure how anyone can argue that he doesn't deserve his spot back in the league.
Only concern is if he starts in the League we get Marshall in the Cup, which at this point I'm more interested in winning than staying up.
No no no, Marshall was brilliant for Cardiff and come on, we paid £5m for him, which is the most important thing...
Yep, earnt his right to start vs Boro. Glad he hasn't played over last few months as I suspect he is a bit of a confidence player. Marshall probably more resillient
Jakupovic should be in goal, he should never have been dropped. He has been excellent since coming in for McGregor last season.
Jak is confident when it comes to shot stopping .. Marshall tends to command his area better with better distribution .. but at times seems leaden footed .. I think Marshall at present is lacking confidence having shipped the amount of goals he has since coming here although a lot of those he hasn't had a chance with .. I'd be inclined to give Jak the shirt at present .. his enthusiasm does seem infectious
He should never have lost his place anyway., I do think he seems to be a lot better in games where we are expected to struggle , as if pressure fuzzes his head . As for what to concentrate , I'd take this second rate trophy over guaranteed premier status next season
Personally I don't see a lot between the two keepers, I'd have backed Marshall to save those penalties last night just as I'd have backed Jak to concede nearly all of the goals Marshall has in the past few weeks. They are very much on par. Both are good shot stoppers, Marshall is better under crosses, Jak is better at organising his defence, neither can kick for ****. Jak is certainly more likeable with his enthusiasm and as much as people don't like to admit it thats one of the main reasons they prefer him to Marshall. The team deserves to be picked on form and I see no reason not to reward Jak by playing him on Monday, it was harsh he was dropped in the first place.
City fans like to overreact. Marshall has made some important stops in games recently like the Southampton match & in the West Brom match this weekend. Matches like Sunderland and Bournemouth away were dreadful, but the whole team played awfully not just the keeper. This happens to teams at the bottom, but i don't see the defence getting blamed.
They're both good keepers, but after a performance like last nights, it would be criminal to not start Jak against Boro.
