I've been off my medication for 2-3 years now hence probably why I am sitting on the fence regarding this subject.
Good mate I refuse to take meds now, haven't took them for a while and can't see me ever going back to them. I'd rather suffer in silence then use any of this countries services again. That's for another thread though.
Meh, meds are overrated anyways. I've never been able to take them properly either, keep forgetting and ****.
Ffs, just thought it was a funny thread between you pair of ***wits, is that ok? Lol. In all honesty I think a panel of decent blokes looked at his case and with all the facts in front of them they made a decision, which I think in his case was the right one. Cannot condone someone using cocaine, but with the sh*t he went through they gave him a break and that's OK with me, for what it's worth
Just starting through this thread, but that's a good post Aussie. Like most parents on here, there but for the grace of God. I've no idea how I'd react. Hope never to find out. My brother-in-law has lost 2 children out of 4 in the last 4 years. I have no idea how the man even gets out of bed everyday.
That would definitely tip me over the edge I think. I admire that man for having the will to carry on. He must have a lot of will & mental strength. I send him my best wishes.
Mate that's terrible news, the poor bloke. Like bill said he must be mentally tough and much respect to him.
I haven't read through all four pages - just a few snippets here and there. My mate (goes to every home and away match) and his girlfriend lost their baby 3 days before she was due - had to give birth. He went to work on the next day. He grieved for her and said that it was the worst thing that has ever happened to him but he grieved and got on with his life. If he'd taken cocaine, he'd have been fired. Almost identical situation! What gets me about this - how come, 6 months later, the excuse of "There was mitigating circumstances" comes out now? Why not when he did it? I don;t remember any news stories about it at the time? It's seems a little off that it's taken them this long to find that out! I have sympathy for losing a child but you need to be sensible enough in professional sport not to do things like that. Why didn't the club come out and say this at the time? Or Livermore? as I saw on an earlier post, big can of worms opened. Do we know whether Mutu lost anyone close to him around the time of his drugs ban? No because he accepted the punishment and his club and manager didn't use it as an excuse. If my son or daughter got knocked over by someone on purpose and I went after that someone and beat the living daylights out of them and put them in hospital - would there be "mitigating circumstances" in the eyes of the police or would I be locked up? There is no mitigation, as a professional footballer, for breaking the rules/law. I don't know how I'd react but I'd expect to lose my job if I took class A drugs and then came to work! I'd also expect to be arrested!
He got tested just a couple of days after his child sadly died. So he either ****ed his family off and went on a coke binge as soon as it happened or more likely, he's been taking it before then.
Rio got tested two days after he 'missed' his appointment and was as clean as a whistle. He got banned for 8 months.
It's a bit ridiculous isn't it? The concept of him scrambling around for his first ever bag of coke after his child has just passed away? Strange concept ordering a stimulant class a whilst mourning.
These are both bang on. I'm not looking down my nose at him either, I have took it back in the day. It's feeling more like he's used what happened as an excuse to get out of a ban. Sorry like, that's how it looks to me though
He must be mate. We've discussed religion to death on here and many of us are against it on principle, including me. If it weren't for his religion though, I doubt he would have got through it as well as he has done.
