One thing that I forgot about, which could also help develop Livermore's game, is the return to the Lane of Steffen Freund.
The youngster's already scored a goal for us, though.

The true badge of honour for any Spurs fan is saying they were there for the pre-season friendly when Freund scored against Stevenage.

He will become a good utility MF player IMHO.
With the usual Spurs injury crises, good for that.

I would expect Jake to line up against Toon. He's an established squad player, and it goes without saying great value for money as a 'freebie'.

Funny you should mention O Hara cos (especially before we'd signed Parker) I wasn't sure of the wisdom of selling him last year. But Livermore's performances demonstrated to me why O Hara was deemed surplus to requirements. I have no problem at all with Livermore taking up a squad place and he just looks like one of those players who will not let you down. Don't think, right now, that he's gonna be a regular starter any time soon but a great player to have around. Would start ahead of Zokora or Palacios any day.

Good to see Jake get the last 20 minutes tonight. He has proved that hard work and dedication can be rewarded.

Great to see Jake get his first full cap, as I say I'm a big fan of his, well pleased for the lad. What a night too, helping England beat Italy, congrats to Defoe and Walker as well.<somersault>

  8. I can see Livermore and Walker (and possibly Dawson and THudd, too) with big futures for England under Hodgson.

The Spurs members of the England Team did an alright job I have to say. Pleasing to see that, and hopefully one or two of them will make permanent first team members in the near future, looking at you Walker! Jake will hopefully take up a bigger place in the squad this season for us too, he did well last year.

Jake played plenty last season, which is something a lot of people seem not to know/forget. He was in our 'first XI' for minutes played. As I've said many a time he's already an established squad member, and I expect him to start tomorrow, for example.
