Oh No! You're having a pop at my name on an online forum! That cuts deep man. Seriously, there may be tears. Oh and by the by, I was sticking up for Williamson on another thread so lumping everyone in and claiming we all knee jerk from one extreme to another seems a little far fetched. We all realise that these new players will likely need time to settle in and they may not all be as good as we hope. In summation let me paraphrase Andy Dufrense; Remember Mrtiote, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. No matter how much you try to beat it out of us. PS that last bit wasn't so much a paraphrase more just seemed to fit the situation! PPS Your name is rather lovely
The fact your getting tetchy about it is hilarious It was meant to be a joke P's the only thing you should hope for is an easy death but work for everything else.
I don't need to time travel to know who's better now. You're boring and thick. I'll leave you to bitch at everybody on your board.
Typical moron can't understand what I'm on about. Your signings may be better but they may not You just can't be so sure yet. P perhaps you should be scouting for Barcelona rather than the nobody you actually are. I had the same argument with Sunderland fans this time last year. Wouldn't football be easy if you just knew your signings were better makes you wonder why Sunderland and newcastle don't improve every season really
Dammit, couldn't find Kryten going nuts about being called tetchy. Still posting some Red Dwarf though
The jury is out on both counts I reckon as both players are with new clubs. We'll know either way at the end of the season.
They're similar on passing ability and composure and that's about it. Rodwell has so much more to his game. In terms of what we need from a midfielder Rodders comes up trumps for me like. Rodders will win you the ball back and link defence with attack, while Colback will just pass it sideways, pass the buck and expect somebody else to do it. Colback was an option, depth for the squad (which in reality is what he'll bring to you, you have better) nowt wrong with that. Rodwell is a star signing. The gulf is massive imo. It's pointless comparison really though, It only matters to us as it's an improvement in our squad. If you'd signed Colback as a star signing then maybe we'd have grounds to compare but not even Pardew would think of Colback as that surely. He's very good squad addition for you lot. He shouldn't be anything else.
OK if he is not better than Colback they have paid six or seven million too much, I can't help but think that you are expecting far too much from Colback for the price you paid , try to judge him with that in mind
Both sides are ok but that's all both sides once again are 3 top players away from progression Having said that Sunderland will compete for 10th I'd say which is progressing we however can't do much better
I think that with Colback opinion seems split. I personally see him as a squad player able to fill in when needed. I expect his graft and guile to counterbalance any lack of talent and for him to prove useful like Ryan Taylor has done over the years with his versatility. I'll give all players a fair crack of the whip and judge them over a longer period of time. We've had initially poor performing players like Enrique, Perch and Colo all come good with time. Likewise we've had players start well and then go off the boil (HBA and Gouff to name but two). After such a long period of inactivity in the transfer market it just feels good to have some new faces to look forward too. It's been a while since I've felt really positive so I'm hoping I can milk it for a while yet.
