Can see now why Parky is reluctant to pick him. Didn’t look comfortable on the ball at all. Did make one good contribution at the end though when he carried the ball out from the back to set up a counter. Still would like to see Neil get a chance though.

At the end of the day he contributed in a SAFC win , he also contributed and scored in the EFL trophy win against Carlisle so I think he can be quite pleased about his early games . Better he comes in to a team that is doing well and winning games to build his confidence as he gets used to his team mates and the various roles he needs to fill . Better that he gets a gentle introduction rather than thrown in at the deep end as sometimes is the case . I don’t think PP would put him in a role where he doesn’t think he can do well .

I remember many years ago watching one Billy Hughes making his debut......thought he was absolute sh*t. Didn't turn out out to be too bad of a player. Give the lad a chance.....if he has the ability it will shine you and will do well. Good luck to him.

Man, Billy Hughes! What player. Quick , two footed, good finisher, could see a pass or a cross, and had a fantastic tache!

These days he'd be sold by this mob for £150,000 before he even had the chance to wheel away with both arms up after a goal.

Players develop at different rates. Not so long ago quite a few people rated the Ginger Piss Biscuit above Henderson.

Tbf to the lad it was his League debut and it was out of position, understandable if he's a bit nervous and made a few mistakes. Let's see what he's like after a few games when he's further up the pitch.

Saw Colin Todd make his debut, looked the same but he settled down well enough. I watched Diamond and saw little to be worried about tbh., like Denver I think he will be a real asset after a game or two. We do have downers on our own, its really dissapointing, have you watched George Honeyman lately ?, he is a tremendous player at the heart of everything Hull City are doing, yet many on here and elsewhere don't rate him. Same lot went after Maja ffs..

Wasn't afraid of a tackle either, or standing up to lumpy defenders.

Billy was the complete footballer, gliding past defenders at will and his glancing headers across the keeper were a treat. Scotland has produced some outstanding footballers in my life time, half our Cup Winning team, and Alan Browns first batch ten years earlier for instance. In those days every successful team had a nucleus of outstanding players from North of the border, strange how few by comparison make the grade to-day.
