Just came across this classic on Walesonline.

"I have to mould him slightly into what we want to do here". Garry Monk,on Jack Cork.

Oh dear. <laugh>

I was taken by the headline in a few online publications, 'Jack Cork transfer came as a surprise, admits Swansea City manager Garry Monk'

Did he not know we were in for him and if so who is deciding on our transfer targets?

He expected corky to sign an extension with the saints and was surprised he wanted to join us. He was a good player but apparently not good enough to be first choice with the saints. I have seen him on rare occasions play and he has neither been good or bad so i hope he can fit into our style and not become another midfielder who dont get used much...Come on corky show us we have not made a mistake...

Maybe it was a surprise because Monk thought that Cork would sign a new contract with Southampton or that a deal was done very quickly. Well done Monk.

Someone on the Daints board has just posted that Corks dad has said the fee was £1.5 million. Great bit of business this.
Don't get greedy now :p. It looks like being £3m, which is a great deal for both of us. You get a good player that gives his all for cheap and we get a bit of cash from a player who's contract was nearly up and rejected a new offer.

I can say nothing bad about Cork (unlike the players that left before the season). He wasn't getting much game time here and wanted first team football. I wish him all the best and glad he has gone to a good team.

Only good thing about Cork going is we don't have to listen to his dad moan. You have got a great deal for a good player.

If he can regain the form he had a couple of season's ago he could do fine as a replacement for Leon (I'd still like Carroll here though).
I see he's played for more clubs than Routs!

Someone really needs to take Monk aside over the way he express himself saying he was surprised, for whatever reason, doesn't reflect well.

I stopped listening to Monk's ramblings quite a while ago.I mute him,or turn him off. Mind you,I do the same to them all.

That's one of the things I miss since Laudrup's departure - intelligent, articulate, sensible, and meaningful Managerial comments.
He never wasted a word,or ummd and aaghhd.

One thing he isn't is "POOR",courtesy of your mate Jenkins.

Pennies don't drop on Laudrup, but millions of pounds do,courtesy of your mate Jenkins.

<laugh> <laugh>

Whether you loved Laudrup or hated him, if we carry on playing the way we have been over the last 10 games or so we will definitely finish well down the table and without a cup. Laudrup was sacked for less. Not being controversial because it's a fact.

Hopefully with Naughton at RB and Cork to give us steel in midfield, coupled with Leon, Montero and Ki returning soon, our bad patch will soon end.

Yes,and "without a cup" to cry in. Sadly, that's where I can see us heading.
I don't think Laudrup was sacked just as a result of poor performances. More along the lines of ill feeling re Laudrup's Agent falling out with Jenkins.
The Agent left, and Jenkins needed to vent his anger, and Laudrup was available.
Some will dispute this,as is their right, but they won't alter my opinion.
Don't fear being "controversial" on here. It's what makes the place tick, and worth visiting. <ok>

The agent didn't 'leave'. We got rid of him and rightly so <ok>

Whatever - he left the Club. The rights and wrongs of his departure are mere speculation. Only those in the know are privy to the reasons.

I note you avoided any comment re the rest of my post. Interesting omission, which actually speaks volumes. <ok>

Why should I respond to the rest of the post when it is mere speculation <ok>
