Just came across this classic on Walesonline.

"I have to mould him slightly into what we want to do here". Garry Monk,on Jack Cork.

Oh dear. <laugh>

I do worry about comments like this from Monk too! But not as much as I worry about seeing Kristian O'Leary at pitchside on match days. What can he possibly teach Premier League level midfielders, or any position for that matter, about passing football?

Possibly a job for Leon next season <ok>

Not that I'm comparing but José Mourinho didn't play at the highest level but is one of the best managers of all time.

Monk has only been in this position for a year or so and so far he's done good and I think you're taking his words out of context. I think he means that he'll have to understand his role within the squad. Every player will have a specific role drilled into them by any manager.

Someone on the Daints board has just posted that Corks dad has said the fee was £1.5 million. Great bit of business this.

Bk have to agree. That would be the O'Leary who was removed from the u21 job.

corky i think wont be playing against the saints and i agree with that as a mark of respect. If it was bony for instance went to them then i would not want him to play against us when the deal is done in the same week. I dont think corky would want to play either...

Well, as a Saints fan, I can tell you that you've signed a hardworking, talented and very, very capable midfielder for an absolute steal. There are times when you'll forget he's on the pitch as he doesn't do anything flashy but he's just very quietly utterly reliable. A diamond. He also comes across as a nice, modest bloke.

I'm very sad to see him go on our behalf but happy for him for two reasons: he'll slot straight into your playing style and he's left because he wants to play more football (which I think is one of the good reasons to move on).

I suspect that before the end of the season many of you will be wondering why we ever let him go.
