Did they abandon her because of singing that awful song,or had she come to the end of the road? She was on T.V. regularly I seem to remember, too often I felt at the time.
She was off colour when playing in Manchester, Tottenham and West Ham and a singer with a sore throat was winding up the others and moaning to her company's CEO.
Jack Cork thread? I welcome the addition of a quality defensive midfielder, hopefully the deal will go through. We've been struggling in this position with Ki away, the erratic Shelvey playing out of position there, and Britton injured. Also the fact that Cork is a big lad and will add steel in front of the defence, something we've lacked this season. For Sunday I worry that diminutive midfield players Carroll and Britton will get bullied of the ball, but at least Shelvey will play in his best position behind Gomis. We also have Naughton coming in at right back which should plug a big hole, with Rangel being a liability lately, and Jazz/Tiendalli not good enough. I wonder where the goals will come from with our only capable scorers Siggy injured and Bony departed. We are struggling up front, with Gomis looking out of his depth as the lone striker,Routledge injured,Dyer a mere shadow of his former self, and Montero a creator rather than a goalscorer.
Against the bruising West Ham Carroll and Britton did a great job, IMO and everyone I spoke to at the game the consensus was it was the best we'd played for a long time. It was the big players in the back four who let us down on the day - Federico in particular (but no one play the perfect game). Rangel really hasn't been that bad, having a succession of different players ahead of him inside and inside centre field has made him look less effective, but it is noticeable that our attacks from deep tend to come from the right. Jazz is good enough. This keeps cropping up but Jazz has easily been on par with Taylor, Taylor has had 40 games since returning from injury almost all with Ash to his right. In the same time Richards, a midfielder has played right back in 7 Premier League games averaging 60 minutes per game + 3 cup games and has had the same problem as Angel in that there has been great disruption in team selection. In terms of errors, Fernandez is far more likely to lose his man and play a poor pass than Richards. IMO, if we want Gomis to be effective Emnes has to start, together they have shown some understanding. For me, the sooner we get rid of Shelvey the better. You used the word liability for Rangel but none has been more of a liability than Shelvey. Since his arrival he has been an individual in a team dynamic, he has lacks concentration, has a problem making quick decisions to pass (almost every pass is control, look around, telegraph the pass, kick long or inaccurately), which leads to giving the ball away cheaply, his volatility gives every game a tension regarding his discipline and he is not the presence his stature suggests he should be - the occasional goal or decisive pass does not outweigh his deficiencies. Either the team is built around Jonjo or we cut our losses and hand him over to another club. While some recent acquisitions are doing well, our transfers in over the Summer and January (to date) have not focussed on goals. While Gomis has been a let down and is down to the player, although he had not played as a single striker often before coming to Swansea, we have not bought goal scorers. Gylfi offered a steady but small return in terms of goals, Montero wasn't a goal scorer of note neither was Barrow or Emnes; our other imports have all been defensive. Oliviera has not had a chance to play many minutes but he did look like a competent number 10 but he is another with limited goal scoring potential. Our biggest problems have been the ridiculous dismantling of a squad without, it seems, much thought about a team, and the rotation of players without any particular reason. Last season Laudrup, because of the number of games and injuries, had to make changes week in - week out and it showed in the gradual loss of cohesion; this season the same has been achieved though shocking disciplinary problems and rotation for the sake of rotation. I don't expect us to win at Southampton (a dreadful thing to say but would never rule out a shock result) but, it seems, I am not alone in this opinion. I do not think it unreasonable to expect a decent performance and a win against Sunderland.
I've never worried when Leon's played he's bettered bigger and so called better players than Southampton's. Emnes can work a little magic and does get into good scoring positions and as long as we do create then we're in with chance .
It.s not Leon's ability to handle bigger players as any one who has seen him over the years knows he is well capable of this. It's the fact that he is getting older and after a long career becoming more injury prone. Incidentally who is this Laudrup whose name keeps cropping all the time?
Koeman: "Jack Cork is now in Swansea. The club offered him a deal but he would like to play more games & I can't guarantee that"
Monk said "We're very pleased to have him at the club - or have him very soon. He's already got good experience at this level. Playing in a good team at a good club, his grounding's very good. He's still at a good age to develop him into a top midfielder."
I hope we haven't guaranteed a certain number of games or we could be in another Ki or Gomis situation.
[QUOTE="Nosugarman1, post: Incidentally who is this Laudrup whose name keeps cropping all the time?[/QUOTE] Just ask either of the Penclawdd Two,they both have a hard on for him.
