TBH I know very little about Cork apart from what I'm reading today - many are saying he's s hard tackling defensive midfielder. But comparison with Britton, Ki and Carroll suggest otherwise - http://www.theswanseaway.co.uk/2015/01/jack-cork-vs-swansea-midfield.html?#.VMpk11o6WyU

If he comes to us will we still be missing that steel we've been wanting in defence?
Hard to tell really as Saints dominate matches much more than us this season. So our midfielders have more work to get through. Also, Wanyama and Schneiderlin are excellent defensive midfielders who probably do most of the dog work, so playing alongside one of them may give you slightly less defensive work. It would be better to look at his stats from the last 2 seasons when they weren't quite as accomplished a side. The article does say that last season, Cork "outstripped our defensive midfielders in terms of ballwinning".

Will do - thanks.

If he is coming then welcome jack bastard but im not sure he is the answer and would prefer better. A few years ago i would say a good signing but im not sure about today...

If history is anything to go by he'll probably sign a two year extension at the Saints by the weekend, typical of us. I'll believe it when it happens.

Please happen! If it happens, we should scrape together the £5m for Carroll this window too. Cork and Carroll at the base of the midfield with Gylfi ahead has all the nutrients that Britton, Bodde and Gomez had, albeit they were only together until Bodde got injured, but those 3 months were midfield perfection. Cork, Carroll and Gylfi could give us years of good service between them.

What about Ki too <ok>

This will be an awesome signing. Credit where it's due.

Ki, Leon, Cork, Gylfi, Jonjo, Carroll, Emnes, Grimes. All of a sudden, we have great strength in the amid field/AM positions when everyone is back. Along with Naughton and possibly one more defender/winger and this could have been a good window.

Obviously Saints are my team due to my place of birth. My mums side are Welsh so Swansea are my 2nd team. I am a season ticket holder at St Marys but try to get to the Liberty 3 or 4 times a year. My wife and My best friends live in Landore so we visit quite often . This is a win,win situation for me . Leaves the Saints and frees up a space in the squad where we are overrun with midfielders and goes to the Swans when I still get to support him. He is a fantastic player and very valuable to have in your side , unfortunately for him not many players in the league are going to push Morgan and Victor out the first eleven, the move will do him good.
