none of this is your fault, but your word carries a lot of weight right now. If people see you criticising SD, they are going to run with it and use it to fuel their conspiracy theories. Sad but true.

Communication was handled badly at the beginning, no arguments from me about that. However, I have seen no reasons why Donald would be the sticking point in this. Especially with a big question mark over satori and his role on negotiations. Repeating myself, but are Dell boys going to invest when 20% of the club is owned by an unknown factor? Hell, I'm curious and it's not my money. Buys 20% for 4 million, a lot of talk about future investment then runs off to play politics with no statement before or since on what his intentions are. I wouldn't invest in a company unless all major stakeholders are accounted for and intentions made transparent. Or maybe its something completely else entirely. Who knows. But I am worried about us hounding out a man who has done good by the club so far, and, if this investment does fall through for whatever reason , will just sell to the biggest bidder with no care their intentions just to get out of this toxic environment and away from fans who have turned against him based on baseless and unfounded media speculation.

If Donald wants to sell, it's a done deal.

If he doesn't there's no one can force him.

The Americans registered a company, at Companies House, using the SOL as the business address.

Only Donald could've sanctioned that.

Why would the Americans do that if they weren't serious, they weren't legally required to do so at that point.

Something doesn't add up.

I think you're a well meaning, intelligent bloke who found himself in a position to share some exciting, interesting, potentially life-changing information without realising it would then develop a life of its' own, rapidly becoming toxic and more and more uncontrollable, utimately degenerating into the shambles it has become.
Ultimately the future of the club is in the hands of others, over which we have no control, and what might be right one day can clearly change to something else the next.
The lesson I'm taking from of all this is that I'm going to use these forums for discussion and sharing of opinion only. It is perfectly possible for someone with inside information on any subject to present his argument as opinion, without revealing that this is as a result of being more well informed than most.
When this started however many weeks ago it was,I enjoyed the information being passed on....I was excited and eager with anticipation for what the future might hold for us,refreshing the screen for most of the day. However,as time went on and we got to where we are now,it became less and less enjoyable and more and more miserable. I won't engage with anything like this again.
The constant sniping ,the hateful sneering and insults, which you have had to endure, along with the deliberate posting of mis-information, all coming from an increasingly nasty number, has done no-one any credit, and there have been times when I have been ashamed to consider such people as fellow supporters.
To your credit, you've been resilient throughout, testament to your obvious strength of character. I would look forward to meeting you and sharing a pint sometime. As you say,we can't walk away from Sunderland.....it's in our DNA....but we can certainly walk away from some of the appalling behaviour being exhibited by some posters,on both boards.

Thanks, that's much appreciated and makes a lot of sense.

I'm really busy but I'll read it again when things calm down.

As you say it's poor when posters set out to cause trouble, but that's all part of being on a forum ...

... when it's a Mod coming on another forum, to cause trouble, it's absolutely pitiful.

I’m hoping this means Stendel or Pearson are the two front runners.
I certainly hope so as I've backed both of them :)

Stendel at 25/1
Pearson at 8/1

I think Parkinson would have really pissed us fans off big style, we cant afford to make a mistake with the next manager. We certainly can't drop points at the weekend....

This is a crucial time for SAFC ....

They might be serious, Donald might be serious. Both might want it done and expected it to be done by now. Doesn't mean something hasn't come up and caused an issue. That doesn't necessarily mean it's SD or SDs fault though. Satori is one thing I can think of, doesn't mean there aren't tens of others. It's pure speculation at this point.

There never seems to be a sense of urgency about SAFC....
We let James and Oviedo leave without another left back lined up, which was a huge mistake and cost us points...
Now we let Ross leave without a new manager lined up....ffs it baffles me how they can be so inept at everything....

I was on the fence about Ross at the end. To be fair, sacking him at the beginning of the international break was the best time to do it if it had to be done.

It's rare that new managers are already lined up when sackings happen mid season.

My problem with Donald is the way he's handled information but, fair enough, who am I to talk <laugh>

Communication wasn't great I agree. Having said that, Donald always came off as the one always talking from the heart, whereas Charlie needed to keep a reign on things. It's quite possible imo, that Donald got caught up in the excitement of his own talks and just genuinely spoke to soon. NDA is obviously still in place though, so in this case no news is good news.
