From where we were at the beginning of last season when Donald first arrived, full of hope and optimism for the future compared to this (if true) is a pretty monumental **** up even by SAFC standards.

I'm ever the optimist and have always been supportive of SD - but as you say, it's a monumental f*** up. He's is taking the club and it's support for a ride.

Utter shambles. Clearly not bothered about supporters opinions. Bargain basement appointment. The sooner there’s a change of ownership the better for me.
Thing is would Pearson be any better. I'm not keen on Parkinson but nothing suggests that any of the names mentioned would be better than the others. As always I'll give him a chance. Let's face it he had a thankless task at Bolton

How on earth can he be taking training when he hasn't been officially announced?
Is this some sort of trial for him?
He'll be officially announced shortly if this is happening. Either before or immediately after training.

Very disappointing.

Colchester - 4 years to get L1 promotion
Hull - failed
Charlton - failed
Bradford - 2 years to get L2 promotion, then 3 years L1 with just a cup final
Bolton - 1 year to get L1 promotion then failed.
I make that 2 or 3 meaningful successes in 17 seasons.

Suggests SD is doing this on the cheap and the takeover, sorry investment, is off.

I thought the list of potential managers this time round was pretty uninspiring (Stendel apart). I don't know much about his management history from top of my head but I thought he came out with some credit at Bolton. Lets see what he can do eh before slating him?

EDIT - just seen post 2 above. Oh well.

Well they can stick the 3 season cards I have up their arse. What an uninspiring appointment. I mean Phil ****ing Parkinson, would rather have Michael!

Is this “payback” for us challenging whether Ross was up to the job. SD was good mates with Ross and I wonder if this is his up yours to us.

I’m not one to provoke an argument especially on an internet message board and I may have got the wrong end of the stick but are you implying I’ve done something wrong by posting the link to this thread on another message board?
Not at all, just that not606 are breaking news and RTG is playing catch up. I nearly wrote that Roger's **** his pants but wanted to be grown up about it.

It tickled me that post was top of the list and has been ever since

Erm don't think you can class his time at Colchester or Bolton as a failure. Got Colchester to the highest level they've ever played at. Got Bolton promoted and then kept them up despite loads of off field issues. They were always going to get relegated last year when they weren't paying the players etc. Don't know enough about his time at the other clubs to comment.
