Given we have a 50% chance of reaching the final, what is the chance of winning the next round?

To reach the final we need to win the round of 16, and the round of 8, and the round of 4, so P(16)*P(8)*P(4)=0.5

Let's assume as an approximation that each round's opponents are about the same odds (in reality Man Utd are slighly easier but this is just a simplification) so P(16)=P(8)=P(4)

P(16)^3=0.5

So P(16)=0.5^(1/3)=0.7937

So about an 80% chance of winning the next round (and more like the 90% I said if you take into account later opponents are more difficult) <ok>

As i said your maths is ****e.

The next round is a game over 2 ties against a single opponent.

So the real math (as opposed to whatever that bollox you posted was) is that there are 2 possible outcomes, Liverpool or Utd progress, ergo 50%

And you have a 50/50 chance of winning the lottery, because either you win it or you don't <ok>

Who said batter? We'll dominate but miss a lot of chances and probably only win by 1 or 2 goals.

Then you won't be able to get back into the tie so long as we don't score an unforced own goal, concede 2 stupid penalties, and get a man sent off [HASHTAG]#doingamidtjylland[/HASHTAG]

Mine will be off i cant take this
Would love to think we will win but my entire life has seen us continually get beaten or shown up by Utd. To many friends of mine support utd so personally i am fecking dropping a brick.
Internet off - eyes wide shut :(
