Why are people scared? We're expected to lose by 3 or 4 goals so anything extra in our favour is a bonus.
I will never be able to watch the game on TV...I usually end up cowering behind the sofa. I will probably last until City score or have a close call, so I'll last about 5 min then.

It's one game in 38. We have plenty of time to adjust and get it right. Doesn't matter if we lose 4 or 5 of the first 6 games. Friendliesare bull**** and we will only learn how good we are from those first six games. If we start badly we then have to adjust quickly.

When the fixtures came out how many teams put the City fixture as anything other than 3 points to City? The teams mid table and below cross this game off at the start. For me it is a good one to start with. The guys will see what the league is like on a game where they have no expectations. If they fall it is only what was expected. If they give it a real go and play some football I think they will be really pumped. As a fan I will be looking for how they play and not at all the score. Game #2 is the one i am looking forward to.
I'm basically writing off the first 4 games to the team regaining the pace and experience of the PL. The Lads will inevitably recover. I'm so chilled by the prospect I can hardly believe it myself. Presently, the closest I can describe it to is that's it's a similar feeling to when I take a long bend, while well cranked over, at speed, on the Viffer. So much serotonin blasts through my brain that I couldn't give a **** about anything as unimportant as Manchester City.
The auditions for Cpl Jones are well and truly done and dusted. There inevitably will be good days and bad its a long road hopefully enough cream to rise to a safe level.
Its a win win for us really, if we get smashed by 4 or 5 then everyone will say that is what they expected. If we lose by a lesser margin then we might be able to take some positives out of the game. And obviously if we can get anything in terms of points then it is a massive bonus for us
I can't understand why any of you are panicking. I'd be relishing this game if I were you guys, its a chance for your team to play against some of the best players in the world and you can hope that your players up themselves for it and just imagine the confidence that it'll breed in your dressing room if you put a good performance in or just create some decent chance regardless of the result. Hell, imagine if you guys get a draw and it'll be huge for your team, it really is a win-win situation as Saintmagic said
All I'm hoping is that the Udinese game was some sort of blessing in disguise, and Nige puts in two battlers; either two from Hammond, Chaplow or Davis.
This sums it up. If we lose npo-one will be surprised, if ewe get thtrashed they still won't. It's a complete no lose situation. We may even shock a few people.
