Once again it shows how having a team mate helps. Lewis put pressure on CLC and ran out of tyres then Bottas can have a go!!! Vettel is costing Ferrari big money and not helping very much. CLC is doing amazingly pity his team mate is letting him down..... Vettel just seems to have gone downhill since the hybrid PUs came in.
To be fair Lewis lost it worse on same corner that's how Bottas got 2nd!! I do think Bottas is a good wing man but he has the last few percent missing.
Well done Charles. A bum kicking performance. And this week he can just enjoy it, especially with his team mate finishing 14th.
Why was LeClerc not told to hand the place to Hamilton when he cut the corner at the end of the straight. He kept in front whilst Hamilton had to go the correct way, he would have lost the place otherwise due to his lock up
If I was on the Ferrari board I would really be questioning Vettels value for money. Great great drive by clc, so much pressure and he held it.
Not deemed to be deliberate. I think you generally get one of those for free, do it again and you’ll get a penalty.
I know rules are rules but if they had punished clc I don't think the stewards would have been able to leave Monza alive. It was also a great battle and would have deprived us of that, so I can sort of understand the decision.
You can't say whether he would've lost position or not, he could've taken a highly defensive line through the 2nd chicane that would've blocked Hamilton from passing, that may, or may not, have compromised his exit enough to let hamilton ahead. He didn't 'gain' by doing it as Hamilton was closer to CLC after the chicane than he was before it, he just didn't lose as much, which is subtly different.
