It is time we had a poll.

  • I think all of our players are great.

  • I really like three or four of our players.

  • Several of our players just aren't good enough.

  • Some players are so poor I often groan and boo at them.

  • I am emotionally detached from our players.

  • Who gives a toss as most of them will be gone soon anyway .

Results are only viewable after voting.
I don't care for the players, Only the club. Support them when they wear the shirt, And then forget them when they leave. Players come and go, The badge is constant.

I wanted to vote for several because I do like several of our players but eventually went for the "disenfranchised."

While they wear red and white, I can easily get attached. I don't sign up to the no attachment approach. They are in my team they get my full, unequivocal support. In my mind, there is no condition and I'll deal with a departure when it happens.

No half way house for me.
I'm with you there. I automatically take them into the family when they join, am delighted when they do well, and am absolutely certain they will improve if they don't. And if they are injured I want to kiss them better (but am not allowed to:p).

I think Virgil Van Dijk is legend material. I genuinely believe, with admittedly very little evidence, that he is Southampton through and through. Most of the others are probably mercenaries, but Virgil is our boy. So is JWP. And Steven Davis. In fact I love Steven Davis.

Where is the option appropriate to these sentiments?

It is time for a poll, I just don't think this is the one.

The second one.

Wanted to muti-vote. I support all of our players, but recognise that some aren't quite up to it, bless 'em. It's called supporting Southampton, and has always been thus.

I felt emotional watching our exes expertly pass it around while wearing a Liverpool shirt, so I chastised myself and now view players like I would an employee.

I think my view on football changed in "that" summer where everyone left. Before I would've been more like FLT and got attached to players and been super supportive of all of them. Now I am massively more disenchanted and realistic (to all the positive people read cynical), any player who is happy to be here is probably not good enough for what we supposedly want to achieve and any player who is good enough will go after 2/3 years max. This is fine, I've accepted our lot, a midtable side who will go on the odd European tour, have a few "boring" seasons where the season is effectively over by February, and the odd bad one where we flirt with relegation, probably eventually going down, hopefully not for a few years anyway. In the mean time I'm hoping that with our reputation of selling players we can attract a few players far better than our station who are trying to use us as a stepping stone as it is the only way we would get them in the first place. At least we get to enjoy watching them regularly for a couple of years which is more than most clubs our size can say
