Skylarker hasn’t been on for a while. Has he got married to that piece he found on Grindr?

Last seen on here posting a pic of a paddle in a hotel room.

Musta been love.

G'day everyone.

Just to confuse you all, I'm an Aussie living in California who is a Liverpool fan. I'm also not that Mong who was banned a month ago, but I'm sure whomever that was he/she deserved it. :emoticon-0148-yes:
I'm a Geordie who supports Sunderland and detests Newcastle.

Just so we know who you'll be friends with on this board, do you support the democrats or republicans?

I wasn't asking you that, I know you would speak out if it was the other way around.

I was asking you, if Palestine had the bigger and better weapons, do you believe that they'd be persecuting the Israeli's?

No, as it is they could only persecute if the situation was reversed.

But let's say there was a peace process, two States were formed, we went back to the 1967 borders, and lets say after a period of time the Palestinians had an army, state of the art missiles, artillery, armed forces and somehow managed to be far superior to the Israelis, I still don't see it.

To counter the possibility of that though Saff, I wouldn't be against any agreement preventing the Palestinians from acquiring that level of armoury for some years. Broker a deal where they get financial aid which focuses on redevelopment, a Palestinian economy, trade, social welfare etc but on the condition that they're not able to develop or acquire such weapons for several years, only enough to police domestically. And instead include them in some international security pact so if they are attacked they're protected by other nations. And I'm not talking about protection from Israel either btw. I honestly believe that if we go through the process of establishing two states, all the blood-letting internally in Israel will happen before the two states come into effect, so that once they do form the two-states, Israel will want to move on. You can never say never bcos there could be some religious extreme PM that might come in and want to start **** up, but I think the Israaeli checks and balances will prevent any **** from kicking off. I honestly don't believe the Palestinians will be under any Israeli threat for the foreseeable future. And I can't see any other nation wanting to attack the Palestinians either.

Let's take it further and say that the creation of a sovereign bonafide Palestinian State comes into effect and leads to a civil war within. And one of the factions is trying to fire rockets at Israel in an attempt to create a ****storm, I'd be all for wiping the **** out of the people responsible, even if at that time it was Hamas. I'm hopeful we won't get to that situation though. There's not the religious sunni/shia divide in Palestine. It's almost completely Sunni. The irony is that if a Palestinian State was formed, Hamas would naturally drift towards their ideological ally, the Mulsim Brotherhood and away from Iran for that very reason. They don't like the influence of Iran in sectarian terms in Gaza.

Sorry about your boys yesterday. You have faith they'll still get promoted?
Politically I lean left, but in general I just go with good, rational positions and it doesn't matter which side says it. The Republican Party has gone off the rails so if I'm choosing a party right now it's the Democrats.

Question: Right wing groups are the minority and are not welcome in this Country. So would you support a right wing group because they were being silenced and suppressed by the majority. No you wouldn't, but that could be potentially what you are doing with Hamas IF they are a terrorist organisation. The only difference is it's a different part of the world and one where war is used as a tool of discussion rather than words. After all, why call them Hamas, instead of Palestinians, would you refer to the army in this country as Tory, because they are the controlling party?

I don't see them as right or left wing mate. And that's not the only difference. Like I've said earlier, right now I consider them a resistance movement.

Cheers, mate. Definitely making me see it from another side although, I don't entirely agree with some parts.

Would you mind if I give that the reply it deserves tomorrow? Bit stoned now, tbh.

I'm betting an "Israel" thread gets pretty heavy on politics.

I don't even know how I got in here. I just signed up to talk about football.
I'm not putting my eggs all in one basket so at the moment I'm drifting between Luvvy and HIAG.
