I think its a case of when the cats (no pun intended) away, the mice will play. Both Cattermole and Bendtner (if guilty of course) may well rue their night of letting their collective hairs down and pay the ultimate price.
They have put MoN in a right pickle because all the other players will now be looking to see just what they can and cannot get away with under him and 2 weeks into his new job, he will have to decide whether it is better to get rid, severely discipline or forgive as not on his watch. How he deals with this incident may well determine how players react from this point and may unsettle a few others.
What a pair of ****ing ****ers they are.
Its a position he should never have had to be placed in imo and the minimum punishment for me would be to strip Catts of the captaincy with immediate effect and relegate him to the bench at best, put Bendtner on the bench behind Connor from here on in and tell them both they are to play reserve football for a couple of months as well. If either player sulks or twists about it, get rid immediately in January. If Bendtner can be returned fine and Catts up for sale for the £5m or so we paid for him. He would still attract a buyer imo for a top Championship side going for promotion and a bottom 4 or 5 team looking to stay up.
I rate both lads and feel personally let down as I have often supported both when criticised by others but if we lost both players now then I could happily live with it as well.
