chico is a must this season and could be made vice captain if the rumours are correct. I would have made leon myself but that's just my preference...

Remember this is a blog and the writers opinion only but i agree mostly with him..

2 Worst Kept Secrets, 1 Surprise
8 July, 2014 By Steven
Just like last summer Swansea City have left four players behind from their pre season tour. Can you remember last year’s fab four? Well I’ll reveal them at the end of this piece.

Three of the four in question this time hardly count as much of a shock. Let’s start with Michu, things appear to have gone very sour since his glorious debut campaign at the Liberty when he bagged 18 goals. He made a reasonable start last term but when he made a brief return in March after long-term absence he was a shadow of his former self. Worse than that his body language was that of someone who didn’t really look like he was bothered. Any of you reading this who went to Hull away last term? I’m sure if you did you’ll know what I’m on about, half arsed tackles, lazy attempts to get the ball, moaning at team-mates I could go on. I think it’s best for everyone now to have a clean break, we’ll never forget how he helped us to League Cup glory but Michu needs to rediscover that spark he had previously and there’s no doubt that won’t happen at the Swans.

Two of the others left behind didn’t surprise me either – Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo. No doubt something has gone on behind the scenes with those two. Both have ability and should at least be in contention for the bench. After the rumours of a split camp last term and these two get ditched for Jay Fulton I don’t think it takes a genius to work out those two were involved. Both should be able to find alternative employment back in their homeland.

Now we come to the surprise – Pablo Hernandez. I was shocked to hear he had not travelled with the rest of the squad over to Chigaco over the weekend and as ever speculation was rife that he too could be heading out of the Liberty. From a football point of view this would be a shame having played the best football of his Swansea career since Garry Monk took charge but if as the Evening Post believe he wants to go back to Spain to be nearer his daughter then we can’t begrudge him that. If that is the case then we need to sell as soon as possible to try and recoup some money back for him with our number eleven only having one year left on his contract.

Reasonable blog.

What surprises me is the cavalier way Monk has cast Pozuelo into the wilderness.
Are we that flush that we can dispense with him so casually?
I have heard several ex international players, now turned radio commentators, describe Pozuelo as a "very good player". But Monk feels differently. Mysterious.

Poz has potential to be a good player, at present we have plenty of players who are better so no loss in selling him. I'd be delighted if we sold him and got Jonny Williams as a replacement.

Sbulby's where have you heard that Pablo is going? BBC Radio Wales have confirmed that there are talks with Napoli over Michu but haven't heard or read anything regarding Pablo?

Is it a case of new broom sweeps clean, a clash of personalities, Monk making a professional judgment or doesn't he have a ****ing clue? Take your pick Lib but time will tell won't it?

It's not so very long ago that some on here were regularly waxing lyrical about Pozuelo, and his incisive goal scoring through balls. Now,because Monk says so,he seemingly has the plague. Difficult to respect such a dismissive attitude.

I rate Poz potential, but that is all it is.
Do you think we should keep a young kid who has done naff all yet as an unsettling influence?
Monk is the manager and it has to be his way or the highway and credit to him for doing it his way. If he succeeds he get the deserved plaudits, if he fails, at least he'll have no excuses as he did it his way and will fall on his own sword. Monk has to prepare the squad and bring in new players and correctly isn't wasting his time propping up the egos of those who don't want to be here. Also says a lot about their unprofessional attitudes.
I'm feeling positive about how pre season and potential targets that are close to signing seem to be shaping up.

The reports on Poz, Canas, Michu and Hernandes leaving can be seen on the Evening Post and Wales on line sites.

Poz was a huge part of our SUCCESS the first half ... played a part in more games in all competitions the first half , than ANY PLAYER in appearences .

Who says Pozuelo is an unsettling influence? First Ive heard of that.

If truth were known, the real "unsettling influence" currently at the Club is - Garry Monk.
Now that comment will enrage some who post here, since they believe he is untouchable, and anything he does, or says, is gospel.
Some are even inventing scenarios to back him up.and that's bizarre.
That may change in the foreseeable future, and will depend on who else is signed, and how the team, his team, performs early doors next season.
However, his new broom attempts, and inability to treat certain players in an adult manner, are definitely having a deleterious effect.

Well monk is the manager now and he decides who he wants in his squad and not you or me....As far as im concerned he is doing a fantastic job at bringing players in and some on here thought he would not attract anyone...how wrong can they be...<ok>

so your implying by saying "if the truth was known" as a fact..<doh>
you would love that but your so far from the mark i cringe with embarrassment for you...<ok>

The Radio Fails report may be true but it also exactly what was reported in the press the end of last week - Friends close to Michu report he's having talks with Napoli.

Fact is Mr Daiswan nobody knows do they? Like every manager across the country Monk will stand or fall by the decisions he's taking right now. If we do really well early doors he'll be a hero and I like many others here will be more than happy to admit we were wrong.

But I think the fact we have talented players like Pozuelo, Michu and now Pablo who either don't want to play here any more or who have been frozen out (one or the other) it should worry anyone who is a fan because it either smacks of an inability by the Manager to persuade unhappy players to adhere to the terms of their contract or a worrying lack of judgment.

So I for one can understand why Swans fans are worried about losing those players. The question is whether the Club and or Monk have the ability to replace them. I honestly hope so. The Ecudorian guy looks decent and that could be a direct replacement for Pablo if it comes off.

Players come and players go, some players have personal problems and some players are not part of the managers plans. Well guess what that is what football is all about and it has not changed at every club not just ours since the year football first took place. There are a million reasons why a player joins or leaves any club and that's their business not ours. like i say........ "That's Football"
