Cabaye is excellent from around the box. Its these ones which are little further which concern me. Santoonio is no Branco!
Some of the regs have been going for years, just as they go to the home games. We've seen the team getting beat but kept on going, but Pards has killed a lot of the enthusiasm for some of the guys with his no knowledge no brainer team selections and his style ( I use the word loosely) of play.
I've stopped going to away games. I've watched my share of crap over the years and kept going but i've had enough. Why should I pay £70+ two, three times a month to go and watch utter s***. The players don't give a crap - They get paid regardless. Pardew is clueless and comes with excuse after excuse.
Pardew is the master of bullshit bingo.

I only saw the first half but the chief tormentor Lukaku was a loan signing.
A player everyone sang praises about the last two years at West Brom.
A player who most fans would love to see in the team.
Pardew discussed on the radio prior that Lukaku was someone he enquired about but was told was not available. (bull ****)
He then said it was a surprise to see him go to Everton because he wasn't for loan.
Fair enough Mourinho wanted to see the lad up close.
Fair enough a decision was made at first enquiry that he was going to stay at Chelsea.
But how low regard must Pardew be held that, when the decision to loan was made Mourinho didn't contact him?
How low must Newcastle be viewed by Chelsea that they wouldn't call back and say, look, we want to loan him and feel you could develop him better than any other options open to us.
We're not viewed as competition to Chelsea I know, but not even best of the rest?
And how ****ing stupid is Pardew not to say look, you have several top strikers there, so if he's not available then someone else might be.

If I read this as an outsider, it would suggest that Newcastle United are not very good.
I wonder if that's actually the case, rather than thinking about that one good season we had.
I think we have decent first team players... but we need 4-5 improvements at squad level.
I feel the backroom is quite strong with a good mix of local guys.
The issue for me is from Pardew upwards.
Out of the three (JFK, AP, MA) the one unfortunately in the firing line is Pardew. He is judged on what he gets out of the players as he is responsible for motivating the players and selecting the team and tactics. I fall back on a comment I've made on other threads in that other PL managers at so called 'smaller clubs' would get more from this squad.... highlighting the fact that Pardew is not up to scratch.
Fck. I wondered if we just weren't very good. Why do we struggle more than most to just accept we're not very good?
I don't know, maybe its that we turn up in our droves, invest hard earned cash, foolishly think it entitles us to having a half decent set up and maybe a smidgeon of ambition?
To be honest, I really don't think Ian Holloway would last six months.
In fact, I don't think he'd come at all. Being sold the idea by Mike Ashley & Joe Kinnear seems highly unlikely.

I think the Toon Army would have been happier watching a team like Wigan than the NUFC trotted out by Pardew. What we fans have always responded to best has been equal measure of humility, ambition, application. KK, SBR two of the most successful managers any of us will ever see, understood that the fans forgive a lack of tangible success simply by the team looking like they give a damn, looking like they wanted to at least fcking try. Neither won any trophy but both were legendary, because their teams had that look. They wanted to play football for their manager more often than not. The fans neither expected nor demanded a win every week, but there was believe there that everyone within the club was pulling in the right direction.
Pardew mistakenly thinks that by uttering a few empathetic lines every week that this somehow endears him to the club, that his failings are covered up because the people above him are that much more hated. For me he just doesn't get the ethos of this club. Actually, I dont know any club that would accept such a lack of effort from its' players, so consistently. That it happened so often last season and wasn't addressed in the Summer, if the personnel were at fault, seems staggering even for Ashley. If they were so crap, we could have sold any one of them at a profit, apart from maybe Debuchy.
A Geordie manager or at least KK with a genuine interest in the club who understood the fans and what they wanted is what we needed, unfortunately Pardew is neither.
Afraid Pardew has too many failings and they can't all be covered up, I wouldn't even mention his name in the same breath as Sir Bobby or KK.
We disagree on the root cause of the problem. For me you can't have a transfer policy like we have, and I don't believe in imposing it on the manager. The big difference with KK and Robson is they had "their" team. They were allowed to get the right characters. They were allowed their blue chip brigade who they knew they could rely on and knew what they'd get. The only time Pardew was allowed that was Barton, Nolan, Carroll, Simpson, Raylor, Jonas, Colo. They were ripped away as troublesome and its probably why he clings to Jonas like a tramp with his kestrel super strength. how many times has he said we need british players? How many times did he say he didn't want to lose Perch, Simpson, Carroll, Barton, Nolan? Obviously player sales are unavoidable, but at least let him choose his own types to replace them. Maybe I'm unfair on the board, maybe I should just accept we don't have the money to buy the right type of replacements and we just have to accept these cheap foreign risks and hope.
Its ****ing frustrating though.
Don't get me wrong I'm still unconvinced on Pardew. In an ideal he probably wouldn't be manager. However when I look at what is likely to replace him, I struggle to see a good alternative who is a genuinely realistic option - i.e. the board would pay for them (wages and possibly compo), they'd want to come and work under this structure, they'd see Newcastle as a good job.
I accept not many like Pardew, but this wasn't the cry when we finished 5th. Fans like of a manager tends to go hand in hand with performance. Unfortunately performance is not solely down to a manager. The structure is all wrong. Why doesn't Pardew do something about whats clearly wrong with personnel? Its not his remit. Why doesn't Ashley sack Pardew? Because any manager worth their salt will want their own way. Following KK, Ashley decided to reduce power in the role of manager significantly to avoid a repeat.
