I once drove up to the SOL to watch a match, drove up the night before, got a room at the Travelodge, Washington services. Went to the match, we were playing Wigan in the Premier League, watched the most turgid, lack lustre display I can remember, where it really seemed like our players just couldn't be bothered and Wigan were awful, we lost 0 - 1

I walked back to my car, sat for 5 minutes trying to calm down, pointless, I then drove home.

We've all done it, the thing is, I drove from Sunderland to my home near Penzance (498 miles) in just over 7 hours with only 1 stop to refuel. I was so angry at the seeming lack of interest of the players that the adrenalin kept me wide awake all the way, still couldn't sleep when I got into bed ad 1:30 am

Swore I would never do it again, yet, I did, over and over again.

No answer to your question Smug, guess we have no choice, it's just part of our DNA.

It didn’t seem like they couldn’t be bothered, they actually couldn’t be bothered, if it was allowed I would of quite happily shot all those players.

Used to live in Barripper, just outside Camborne, and used to have to go to West Cornwall Hospital, Poltair,Bellair and the GP surgeries. Come from Durham so know that drive very well. One break and home in 7 hours is some going.

my mate who's a massive nutcase but sometimes gets things right reckons that it's something we're born into and says it's a little known secret that Sunderland maternity hospital take new born babies out the back and 'inject them with a poison' and you can't reject it you're in it for life and that poison is SAFC and you genetically carry on passing the gene to your kids
