Surely it wouldn't be beyond feasible to block the port of Odessa to allow grain shipments from there to avoid Russian interference. I find your claim that 10 or more Russian ships have been sunk, or did I misread your account, because nothing like that has been seen on the regular news networks. The Donbas region is starting to look as if it will totally fall into the wrong hands but Odessa has to be held for Ukraine to have a Black Sea outlet to the world otherwise I just see a continual war until the entire country succumbs. Canada is also a bread basket to the world but those supplies can only go so far before they are used up and by the way the same goes for oil and gas. Do you think Putin will stop when the eastern side is fully in Russia's hands or will he renew his assault on Kyiv again? I think if he stops at that point at least Ukraine will have time to rebuild the areas badly damaged during the bombing and shelling and to bury their dead with dignity. Is it not yet obvious to some Russians as to what the hell is going on or does the leaked news we get from Russia not indicate any backlash from it's citizens?

I believe the sea around Odessa is heavily mined , so difficult to pass.
 
I wondered that after I posted but if you tied as many Russians as possible to the bow - who knows? The next big port down the coast is Constanta in Romania but I don't know how viable that would be.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said the ship was seriously damaged after a fire caused a munitions explosion. The next day, Russian officials said that the ship had sunk while being towed to port.
  • 5 Raptor-class patrol boat - On the first week of May, Ukrainian forces using Bayraktar TB2 drones attacked five Raptor-class boats near Snake Island, it was not known the extent of the damage.Serna-class landing craft -
  • On 7 May video appeared of a Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 drones hitting and sinking a landing craft loaded with a Air Defense System on Snake Island.
  • here is some of them, .................mind you UKRAINE HAS LOST QUITE A FEW SMALLER ONES, they also scuttled their own flagship! ... thats why the Moskva was an important target!!!

But it also points to an emerging strategic effort to break a Black Sea blockade that is strangling the Ukrainian economy.

Since March 21, Ukrainian missiles and drone attacks have damaged or sunk about four landing ships, three patrol boats and the cruiser Moskva, the Black Sea Fleet flagship, which sank in April, according to Ukrainian defense ministry announcements and data aggregated by the Istanbul-based ship blog Turkishnavy.net.

All told, Russia has lost about 13 vessels since it launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry stated Thursday.

They have Sebastopol as the main port, they are trying to establish a radar station and air defence on Snake Island ... Ukraine sunk some near it ..... Landing ships can be quite large .. I think our own HMS Albion is classed as a landing ship. I have been on board quite a few times in the course of escorted hand to hand delivery to one of the ships officers ... senior chief maintenance department, it is massive in the middle, or cargo area I passed! you could fit probably a six [or 8 story? ] block of flats, like those around ashton/ bs3 /bs13 it had deck's able to be loaded with about xx+ ? helicopters! and other "things" .. ........ only comment I ever got !!!
Ships in the AZOZ harder to strike... but wait till they get upgraded weapons ......... !
 
Other than 1 sighting of a forte[11] on a flight path, couple days ago, toward the Black sea no spy drones have been noted! Strato tankers are numerous often 3 or more cargo planes C17's etc are pretty scarce although quite a few ID's show up without complete flight path's!... no POSEIDONS for a few days and fighter plane training exercises have been quite conspicuous by their absence...
 
What / who does Macron think he is!! History shows that over the last 100 years and a couple of wars the integrity of the French and their unwillingness to fight!! It makes sense the Italian PM .. viz .... "Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi has aligned himself with Mr Macron, suggesting Europe wants "some credible negotiations". " .. would pick the lesser option of anti unity and a give in scenario... and align himself/country along with Macron!!!

It is what Putrid is after, now heavy, and a more balanced armament is around the corner!! he could finish up with a real loss. At home he already has a large number of troops now refusing to go back to UKRAINE, maybe thats why he has upped the age limit of ex soldiers and volunteers! .... on a salary to get killed!
 
Personally I’d leave it to Ukraine to decide what their needs are for any negotiated peace.

It’s gone beyond giving Putin the opportunity to save face. The devastation and war crimes committed mean Putin needs to answer for his actions imo,
 
The world can't let this thug and murderer get away with anymore and I just hope the West stay together on the follow up because anything else would give Putin just what he wants. Pressure needs to be kept up and gradually increased without regards to the dissenters such as Turkey and a couple of the ex-Yugoslavs. If we allow future criminal activity by Russia then you might as well pack your bags to hell.

Russia's UN ambassador has stormed out of a UN Security Council meeting after the European Council president blamed Russia's invasion of Ukraine for causing a global food crisis.

"Mr Ambassador of the Russian Federation, let's be honest, the Kremlin is using food supplies as a stealth missile against developing countries," Mr Michel said during the Security Council meeting in New York.
"Russia is solely responsible for this food crisis."

He added that he had seen for himself the millions of tons of grain stuck in the Ukrainian port of Odesa because of a naval blockade enforced by Russia.
Mr Michel also accused Russia of stealing grain and preventing crop planting and harvesting in Ukraine because of its military activities there.

His comments led to Mr Nebenzia storming out. As he left, Mr Michel addressed him directly: "You may leave the room, maybe it's easier not to listen to the truth".

They have the measure of the Ruskies .... if not in the room couldnt they have a meeting and throw them out? problem is !their ass suckers would veto it"

Mr Nebenzia told Reuters he couldn't stay because of "the lies that Charles Michel came here to distribute". .......... no Mr N , TRYING TO tell you the lies about what is going on and that you are told, is not going on is the actual LIES

If he stayed and listened he’d probably never be seen again, or would be poisoned, I watched the Russian Ambassador to the UK being questioned by the BBC ‘s Clive Myrie being shown footage of Russian war crimes, he was sweating like a pig, kept looking away and was crapping himself but still he had to toe the line, you could see he was petrified of saying something out of line, fearing the consequences.

They are only in that job because they have taken the Presidents rouble .... and get rewarded with a massive pension and "country estate" or a cast off OLIGARCH'S yacht for a months holiday...! It is believed the future of Russian now lives abroad? some 250,000 young anti government realists have left the country, taking with them vast amounts of R&D knowledge ... either existing or in the mind still to be realised .... what will happen to the paid and unpaid army soldiers now under the wing of the human rights authority is yet to be seen ........

The " world recognised illegal annexed Donetskregion " has just given 3 employed by the Ukraine army as soldiers for the past 4 years the death penalty, 2 are british citizens , one engaged to be married to a Ukrainian lady. This will be a massive step up of anger and galvanise the Ukranian and western powers into some sort of action.
The uk has just completed trials on a new light weight and much more destructive missile to be launched from the drones that have been so successful against the Russian tanks and high speed boats trying to arm Snake island. If the story behind this missile and drone is true ... the people in the illegal court had better look out!!! ...hopefully ...

the russian stelath fighter is currently between Augsberg and Munich speed is only about 120mph!!! height at 2200ft .........
