Is it going to take another tragedy for the sick chants to finally end?

@Trebs, myself and all other reds on this thread and others have slated the morons associated with our club for their crass and disgusting chants/songs, I was there on Thursday and along with many others NEVER chanted the ****e some did, before, during and after the chanting from our section and the punch-up above I was dodging coins, food and **** knows what else that was thrown at me along with many others and being accused of murder along with many others in our section very loudly by Utd followers in many sections surrounding us and by the Stretford End(or at least that end of the ground), it's my opinion that if I and many others in the ground and including on Radio and TV could hear it then so could those sitting in seats close to the halfway line.
The only reason I can come up with why two figures associated jointly with Utd and Uefa haven't/didn't speak up about it is down to club loyalty, if you can suggest another reason then sound I'll take it into account, it's also just my opinion that if either one of them had spoken up it would have prompted a fairer response from Uefa and prompted somebody from LFC(probably Ayre)to back Gill or Fergie up whilst also making a stance that our club ban any **** doing it for life.

The tribalism runs deep between our clubs and always will do but there has to be a line drawn in the sand when it comes to terrible chants revelling in the deaths associated to/with both clubs I'm sure we'll both agree on.

This. It's otherwise inexplicable from a logical standpoint.

This will only stop when you end this childish "but they sang it first" idea, get rid of this "their chant is worse" rubbish, acknowledge that it's totally disgusting and abhorrent on both sides and agree to weed out the minority of scumbags that sing them..

Have the balls to stand up to these morons with their pathetic chants, report them, have them thrown out. It'll never go away, such is the size of the two clubs, and you'll always have a number of imbeciles who follow your clubs. A tremendous amount of self policing needs to happen in my opinion.

Vast majority agree. Problem is we're talking a small small minority of thousands and thousands of people!

UEFA said in a statement today: "UEFA has recently been made aware of several reports concerning alleged illicit chanting on the occasion of the UEFA Europa League ties between Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC of 10 and 17 March 2016.

"As a result, a UEFA ethics and disciplinary inspector decided to investigate further and gather potential evidence.

"The two clubs have thus been asked to provide statements relating to the alleged incidents within 10 days."

Nobody is disagreeing with the fact that it is unacceptable for either fan base. The problem is that its being made out as if the fans are equally as bad as each other, when its simply not the case. Man Utd fans sang about Heysel/Hillsborough at regular intervals over the 2 legs and had a banner taunting Liverpool fans about being murderers in between the games. After 2 legs of abuse about Hillsborough and chairs being thrown at them in the away end at Old Trafford (didn't happen at Anfield btw), a minority of Liverpool fans responded with Munich chants toward the end of the 2nd leg. They shouldn't have done so but to claim both sides are as bad as each other is a load of crap spouted by people who know **** all of the actual situation.

It's stretching the point to say it was a 'minority' of United fans either.

Yeah, if it was simply a minority they wouldn't be clearly audible on the TV. The "murderer" & "The s*n was right" chants were heard loud and clear in the 2nd leg (and apparently the 1st leg). When was the last time we heard chants about Munich from a number great enough to reach the TV microphones from Liverpool fans at Anfield or otherwise? I can't think of it happening, really.
