Guys I'm boxing at the Lancastrian suite in dunston Aug

Thinking of VIP table for not606 if anyone wishes to come and support me

Now:

Options:

1. Voting system change to vote for trial then have a trial with guilty v innocent vote. Gives someone a chance to claim a role or give false info etc

2. Death notes: roles who kill can publish a death note on the corpse. taunts, clues fake clues or could be a town guy making himself confirmed... who knows

3. Last wills. Everyone can write out a will and have it published if they die. this could be key info they learned and is not lost. However some mafia roles can eliminate or change this

4. Role confusion. Roles may be assigned to each person and thats hard to hide in but if you were told there are investigators, killers, healers/bodygaurds, other assorted roles.... but not how they are mixed up then add in a a couple unknowns there is enough places for a mafia to claim a role and hide in it if he is under pressure

5. Non aligned players. Some could be killers, others evil and others just along for the ride. all having their own win conditions

6. Jailors: hard to organise in a forum. Very tough but can be most powerful town player who can stop someone acting at night by locking them up either to protect or cage them and if he thinks you are bad he can execute you.

7. amount of killing. nightly? limited to only 2 or 3? who knows..
I like 2 & 3 especially.

Trial sounds interesting but if someone on trial isnt online they'll get lynched, and its an easy out for guys to vote for someone who didnt defend themselves... for example i know i wont be as active as usual so i would struggle to be online for trials given they could be whenever, & heaven help me if I'm on trial and cant get online.

I like the ambiguity of non aligned players...
Jailor has been interesting in the past, however he is such a key role if he dies early town are screwed.
I like the kill every 2nd night scenario for mafia as its not limiting in the long run, but not as overpowered as an every night kill. Limited kills are fine for town roles as they have to balance knowledge vs survivability, but i dont like it for mafia...

quite like the unaligned role idea.
Also the first one i played had a town role of someone who could shoot anyone who visited if he was on guard which added a certain risk element to nightly visits.
still think the trial idea sounds interesting the worry would be who is online at the time would massively effect the outcome i.e. seem to remember Mustyfrog is overseas.

Whilst it may be a bit boring for those who are VT I do think it is essential that there are a number of VT's in the game because if everyone has a specific role then there ultimately is no hiding place for the Mafia which when the numbers are down towards the end of the game means all the Town have to do is declare roles to win.

I like the idea of death notes combined with no automatic reveal of role

It's very lazy and easy to just lynch someone for no reason unless they claim a massive town role, knowing you immediately learn who they were

The investigators can learn straight away if they investigate, otherwise maybe the information comes out automatically the next night so there's some delay

Although I agree, we tend not to see mafia classing a town role to mix things up either

PS... I did it to great effect in the last game [HASHTAG]#allaboutzanjinho[/HASHTAG]

depends what time the trial is, as Solid said I am 9 hrs ahead of GMT and I think a couple of others are overseas as well?

True.

I can only think of setting times so people have a deadline for each vote.

It then kind of eliminates this let's tie the vote bolloxology. A guy can defend himself when up for lynch and try confine the hometown to vote

Yeah a few.

I dunno when is best. In theory the 9pm deadline stands, it's really a question if there's another earlier time for another deadline.

AND the issue is if you don't have to lynch day one and two might be very boring.

Say.. Monday 15 players, 5pm? 6pm? Deadline to get votes you don't get 8 picking one guy, then what....wait til 9pm then night occurs

Not with unknown roles.

Everyone would have a role but not know for sure what roles are in game.

E.g.. 2 investigators but what kind of investigator? Or vigilante as classic or could be the vet as in visit me and die.. or other such and then I put in unknown town and unknown any so there's quite a bit to hide in for mafia.

There is always the danger of the reveal to win effort but Theresa couple ways around it too.

Who is Theresa? And does your wife know? Or your partner? Or your significant other?

Well the votes always used to be 8pm. I believe we trialed 9pm but never discussed it beyond the trial period <laugh>

9pm is better for me anyway
