Surprised that there is a lot of anxiety from the red and white masses over this one. It should be a good game and tough but i can't see us coming away without at least a point. We are playing some good stuff and riding the wave. I'm going 2-1 to Saints with typically bum squeaking final 10...

Evening Saints fans!

Welcome to Portman Road all those of you that make the journey. I will happily take a point as it stands as Portman Road is not a fortress for us at the moment. I remember back to some of the ding-dongs we have had down the years especially a scintilating 3-3draw down at your place when we were both in the Premiership. Marcus Stewart was just superb that day and god how we miss him now. Our main goal threat is Chopra but with PJ playing 4-5-1 at home and a defence that is well dodgy to say the least I wouldn't be surprised if you turn us over!

After this im going for 4 - 1 Saints our attack is going to be too strong for their DODGY DEFENCE !

I think Fox will make his debut on Tuesday. Harsh to drop Harding but Fox is better and has a quality delivery from set pieces.

Anything other than a defeat will be a great result as we will have 3 home league games out of 4 after this game. I think that we will be extremely hard to beat at SMS, so picking up draws at places like Ipswich will maintain momentum, although the way that NA sets up his teams, we have every chance of getting all 3 points. I'll be conservative in my prediction this time with a low scoring draw.

I reckon we can beat them. They're on a low, were on a high and thay have a shaky defence apparently. I'm going 3-1 Saints- Lambert, Barnard, Lallana and Chopra for Ipswich.

He's not going to drop Guly, he's played bloody well in the week, and no he won't play connolly twice ina week.

If someones playing well, and contributing he's not going to be dropped for someone coming bak from injury. It wouldn't be wise as he doesn't have the match sharpness Guly has.

Fox will be on the bench, don'tforget Harding can also play CM, so you could see him move up and dickson come on

or Lee Holmes an play there.

that formation would be the way forward imo.

sorry but what games have you been watching? Guly has had a really poor start to the season IMO, a shadow of his former self

I also do think think Guly is as good going forward this season at the moment - some of his defensive work has been excellant - but not seen so many of those surging runs. The problem is also the postion he's been playing; he's not a forward nor is he a right winger. Still rate him and hope it turns out well for him (and us) soon. Would add that when substituted on Saturday, Solent said he came off the pitch shaking his head - not a good sign perhaps - wondering if it's a confidence thing...

If offered 7 points from 9 after 3 games i'd have bitten your hand off, So ill be happy with a draw <ok>

Against Leeds Guly's interplay was quality, and as stated his defensive work is under rated. Admittedly he was poor against Torquay, a few glimpses of quality but never got going. Then yesturday, apparantly had another good game and didn't deserve to come off. Guly is easily good enough for the championship and technically is one of our better players. I think it's a similar case to when he first signed for us, took a few games to get sed to the league. Come the end of September he will be on form again.

It all depends if we sign someone new today!!! If not a draw would be a good result for us!!

I've well and truly eaten my words after the Barnsley game. Never did I expect us to do that well at Oakwell and get 3 points. This side continue to surpass my expectations - this is without doubt a great time to be a Saints fan. I don't think I have enjoyed it this much since the 80s!

Having said all that, I think it will be a tough match at Portman Road. First evening match away, large crowd, one of the better opposing sides in the league - a draw would be a good result.
