My starting line up against Ipswich: GK Davis LB Harding CB Fonte CB Seabourne RB Richardson LM Lallana CM Hammond CM Cork RM De Ridder ST Lambert ST Connolly ???
I reckon a entertaining 2 - 2 draw, wish i was going because i think this will be a great game with plenty of lovely football.
Can't see connolly starting this one. -----------------------Davis Richardson-----Fonte-----Seaborne-----Harding -----Hammond-----Cork-----Schneiderlin ---------------------Lallana ---------------Guly-----Lambert
Yeah, can see where you're coming from. Of course, it depends on who's fit, but if Barnard is available, I'd start him alongside Lambert. I'd have either Guly or Schneiderlin on the bench or starting. Can't make up my mind there, so I'll go with your three of Hammond, Cork and Morgan. -----------------------Davis Richardson-----Fonte-----Seaborne-----Harding -----Hammond-----Cork-----Schneiderlin ---------------------Lallana ---------------Barnard-----Lambert Bench: Bialkowski, Martin, Guly, Connolly, Dickson
According to who? He hasn't played so we have no idea where he would be in the pecking order. I don't think Connolly will start, I don't think Adkins will want to play him 2 games a week too much. If Barnard is fit I think it will be between him and Guly, and I think it may be Barnard. I also think Fox will be at least on the bench, and I don't think we'll start with Cork, Hammond and Schneiderlin in midfield as with Chaplow suspended, it means we have no CMs coming off the bench.
He's not going to drop Guly, he's played bloody well in the week, and no he won't play connolly twice ina week. If someones playing well, and contributing he's not going to be dropped for someone coming bak from injury. It wouldn't be wise as he doesn't have the match sharpness Guly has. Fox will be on the bench, don'tforget Harding can also play CM, so you could see him move up and dickson come on or Lee Holmes an play there. that formation would be the way forward imo.
Barnard wouldn't be thrown back into the starting line up, if he's in our plans for this entire season (by which I mean, not going to be thrust to an insignificant rank if we bring in a new forward) then he'll be eased in, Adkins isn't an idiot.
Martins played well in his first 2 games this season, yet he was dropped for seaborne who was coming back from an illness, the same could happen with barney. Admittedly it is unlikely but don't rule it out.
Evening Saints fans! Welcome to Portman Road all those of you that make the journey. I will happily take a point as it stands as Portman Road is not a fortress for us at the moment. I remember back to some of the ding-dongs we have had down the years especially a scintilating 3-3draw down at your place when we were both in the Premiership. Marcus Stewart was just superb that day and god how we miss him now. Our main goal threat is Chopra but with PJ playing 4-5-1 at home and a defence that is well dodgy to say the least I wouldn't be surprised if you turn us over!
Head says difficult away game so draw is a useful point. Heart says I want to keep winning now, because we are on the slide down the table!
He was the only available centre back was he not? He would never have played the first game had Seaborne been fit. He also made mistakes in both games that would have been punished by better sides. Seaborne wasn't coming back from 3 weeks out like Barnard as well.
