Well it hasn't half worked out well I gave Jewell criticism regarding midfield + 2 subs not on bench - I guess Carson STILL needs to get his head down, work at it. Ellington again, plod away and your chance will come. Scotland has been excellent tonight, Bullard's clearly getting fitter + Leadbitter has been a million times better out wide. V pleased with tonight, however 3 very tough games coming up... !
Brilliant performance. We didn't play like that at anytime throughout Keane's tenure. Let's hope this is the quality players we know we have starting to gel and not a flash in the pan.
Seems like a good win for you boys. Many congratulations. (Not taking the pee) Just got a couple of questions for you all. 1. How relieved are you with the win, and was there real cause for concern if you had got anything less than 3 points? 2. Was there a significant improvement in the team's performance tonight? 3. Can and more importantly, WILL you build on this? and finally........ 4. HAMPY.....will you please check your pms?
1. Yes very relieved- most town fans feel this was a crucial game and should give the players some confidence going into a tough run of games. 2. Yes- all round, defense looked reasonably sharp with the full backs getting forward brilliantly, midfield passed the ball beautifully at times- dare I say it, a bit like you lot last year! 3. I'm sure we would all love to know. I feel we can push on because for some reason it appears our players aren't at full fitness- Sonko, JET, Collins, Bowyer and Ingi. Also with the likes of Martin to come back in, hopefully hungry we could be in a much better place in a few weeks time.
1. How relieved are you with the win, and was there real cause for concern if you had got anything less than 3 points? Genuinely relieved at the performance not as much as the result - if Cov had taken their chances and we hadn't taken ours it could've finished level or worse. 2. Was there a significant improvement in the team's performance tonight? There was - but it's a very very poor Cov side so I won't be getting too excited. We have almost an entirely new team and we've been piecing together the defence bit by bit up until last week so it's not a cliche to say they will take some time to bed in and find top gear. 3. Can and more importantly, WILL you build on this? Four tough games coming up, only three points off the play off zone. We have the players capable of being in that zone at the end of it but not really the winning mentality and confidence so I would expect us to come out of the next four pretty poorly. and finally........ 4. HAMPY.....will you please check your pms? Nothing in my PM Maestro - maybe you didn't address it properly?
A great win tonight Maestro! Jewell has unearthed a fantastic young talent in Cresswell £240K from Tranmere and he was outstanding both offensively and defensively. Edwards on the other flank played great and the boys in the middle started to pop the ball around with real aplomb. Early days but tonight has shown that we can play some quality football and I just hope that Sonks is fit for Saturday. UTT
That's strange hampy. my outbox says it was sent. And I put a bloody 1st class stamp on it as well!!!!
Sandiego This was on TWTD site:- Monday's game against Coventry isn't just being shown live in the UK (Sky Sports One/HD1 7.30pm). Fans abroad, including those in the US, also have the chance to watch the Blues in action. In the US the match is on the Fox Soccer Plus at 11.40am west coast time and 2.40pm on the east coast. In Canada the game is on Setanta Sports Canada So don't quite understand, my Dad is in Vegas at the moment and i rang him up and told him to watch it, he was real pleased but guess he didn't get to watch it if it wasn't on!! Anyway, great result and well predicted by myself!! LOL!!
The other big positive for me was Leadbitters and Scotlands performances. best I've seen them play for a while. Delaney made a couple of decent blocks when he came on. Obviously it we weren't playing the best team in the league but lots of positives from this match.
We can only beat what's in front of us and tonight we should have been 4-0 up at half time. Give Scotland the ball to feet and he will score. His all round play tonight was fantastic and is the perfect foil for Chopra. They play well off each other (third goal proves) and Leadbitter (grudgingly) put in a shift! Still a lot to work on but I am pleased with the clean sheet (Stockdale no saves to make). Cressy was just superb in everything he did!
Hey Warky, your not getting infatuated with Cresswell like political did with CWick are ya?? We need all our players and don't want them to be kidnapped, i am getting a little worried that you could become a Cresswell stalker or worse!!!
Hey Spanish I just think the lad has been brilliant for us this season maybe a Jamioe Clapham or Tarico in the making!
Cresswell is definately the best left back I have seen at the club in years!! Signing of the century for town, up there with Walters??
