Now before you all jump on my back I fully support the current set up and NCFC and think we have a good balance between a good business and a friendly family, British owned club.

However, with the takeover of QPR by Fernandes it has got me wondering why we don't attract interest from big money investors. Are we too out of the way? Does the board only want to sell to a certain type? Are we in worse shape than it appears? Maybe the potential fanbase is too small, given that we are a local club, for local people ;-)?

The way I see it is that we will never challenge for Europe again unless we get some big money on board. We will inevitably always be that yo-yo team.

Thoughts?
 
I'd of thaught anyone looking to invest in a team Norwich is perfect, the catchment area for fans is huge (east anglia) we have a nice stadium which I imagine turns over abit every home game, and we will be debt-free and in the PL,.. who knows the future
 
Europe? - forget Europe Sheffield, one step at a time, eh? Let´s firstly concentrate on using the next two or three years cementing our place in the Premier League, and we can do that perfectly well without outside investment. If at some stage outside investment comes, and if at some other stage Europe should come, then great, but if neither do, then no sweat.

Main priority, staying up here now we´ve made it.
 
royalbarclayfan i say if we don't get some investors we will not last two or three years in the premiership without enough money this will mean season ticket prices will rise again and again we are all ready for our season ticket prices more than at least 15 teams in this league its getting stupid already. i could go to liverpool everton for exsample for cheaper than norwich. and if we do go down this season will they increase the season ticket again even though we have gone dow a league

Don't season ticket prices increase every year, regardless of what league we are in? Ok, maybe freeze them for 1 season if we drop back down but after that they will go up. That will happen even if we get a Multi Billionaire benefactor.
 
i think they should freeze the price even if we stay up for at least 1 season so they can help the fans afford them better i know some teams freeze prices for more than 1 season i think they should freeze the more expensive season tickets and start putting up the price for those who only pay £150-£200 we have to pay nearly £500-£600 a year
 
I paid £480 for my season ticket this year, and I couldn't be happier. PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL - can't really put a price on that in my opinion! It's the price of the pies and the drinks that riles me more, because they only cost pennies, but are sold on for pounds.

we CAN attract suitors! for one, fernandes set his sights on investing in our club before he set his sights on west ham and rangers. now, this is only from what i've heard from one person who has dealt with fernandes but from what i can gather, qpr could be regretting this decision in 12 months time. i'm afraid i shall have to remain suitably vague but lets just say delia was right to turn him away <ok>
 
Looking at other clubs who have recently cemented a place in the PL, the majority have had additional investment, including the team who pose our first test at home on Sunday. I expect that simply staying in the PL will sadly soon be an insufficient source of income for a club to get to even a relatively stable mid table position. Look at the wage bills, it is bizarre but £40-50M has become a drop in the ocean. I think we will attract further investment as we are clearly an attractive proposition especially if we increase the size of the carrow road cauldron in the next few years
 
I think we'll need something as said above, it will be tough to invest massively in the team and stadia on just the TV money and ticket income / marketing alone. One step at a time eh, let's stay up.
QPR bid for Scott Parker now they have fernades - £4m are you having a laugh!
 
Its all well and being about the bid for scott parker, £4mil yeah right-o but even if they accept that which i will be amazed if they do theres a wage to go on top of that and god knows what that would be but it wouldnt be a pretty sight to the fans eye... and what happens then if they go down with that wage bill still on the books, an ageing player aswell with a decrease in value etc.

As for investment im very happy with us just making our merry way on our own getting the money the proper way and not get in a prediciment of some multi-millionare coming in and putting some bloomin great debt against our club and we end up like a number of other clubs have/will do!

I'd much rather we didn't receive any over-seas investment at all. Sure, it would be great to have all the money to spend, but look at the pressure Leicester are under already. Why would we want that sort of pressure piling on the team and the manager, just for the chance of doing better in the league? I for one would rather remain a big championship club, than be a lower premiership club with all the additional pressure from big investors. Don't get me wrong, I love the prem (for the moment ;)), but would happily go without if it meant our club remained a locally run, stable business.
 
I've often thought about this, two factors play a part in this I reckon.

Firstly, geographically even though it's not up by the borders, Norfolk is quite a fair way out for some people, it has trains running to London (The centre of the earth to most of these people) on a regular basis, but the access via roads is dreadful. Travelling in from the Midlands driving through Elvedon being stuck behind buses full of blue rinses on their way to Yarmouth or the Caravan Club going on their quarterly weekender, it needs a motorway and in my opinion it will make a lot of sense.

Secondly, the image in the media. I think they do us no favours as a club 'Delia's Canaries Cook Up a Storm' 'Hotting Up in the Carrow Road Kitchen' 'Norwich's Recipe for Success' need I say more? The Red top brigade and lazy BBC sports producers are to blame for this.
 
Investment is hard to come by and harder still to sort through the genuine, passionate people who wish to make a club successful and those who couldn't really care less an are there for a fleeting moment.

Just look at how hard Everton have found it to attract investors and they have had consistent top half Premier League finishes under Moyes. They must have racked up a fair amount of debt in the process just on wages if the bank is refusing them to buy any more players until one is sold.

I think it will be interesting to see how these new Uefa financial rules impact on clubs. Also the 25 man quota has arguably had an impact already. It could be the first break on spiralling wage demands as the clubs hold more power and have more choice than before of who is out there (in terms of free agents an players running down their contracts)

With investment in mind this must have been the thinking to bring Stephen Fry on board to sell the image of the club and reach out to a different kind of audience. Who knows what avenues his contacts and following might inspire in the future?

Bit harsh Cromer! I actually quite liked them Dave. Whenever I scrolled through a page I could instantly see those prancing twats and it always made me feel safe knowing that our guardian Dave was around!!! :police:
