This game is the perfect advert for why there shouldn't be international matches in June (when it's not a world cup / Euros)
Unsurprisingly dull and lackluster performance again from England. Commentators just wouldn't shut up about wonder boy jack Wilshire. I don't think he's a terrible player (& he was one of England's better performers today, though that wasn't hard), but they were talking about him like he was some kind of messiah. Praising every little simple thing he did. I was willing Bertrand or Long to score but the game didn't deserve a goal. Pointless game.
Frustrated me how often Bertrand would make a run right up the left wing, only for Sterling to ignore him, cut inside and try and do his own thing instead. Thought Long looked good when he came on, in a being-a-nuisance sort of way
Thats shane to a tee isnt it. I will admit to being one of the people who heavily criticized us buying him but i'm very happy to be wrong here. His level of effort and commitment alone are worth his fee and add his goals and versatility and he's been a fantastic addition for us. You just cant think of him as a striker/fw or you'll watch all his missed opportunities and get frustrated with him.
Just in from a **** day at work, but boy am I happy I missed another serving of woys ****ness. This is the worst England team & manager our little island has ever had...... .....and that's saying something!
I can't believe that the panel after the game were seriously suggesting that Phil Jones plays at RB against Slovenia. I would hope that Roy only played him today to see what he could do, which, like most of the rest of the England side, wasn't much. Hopefully Nat Clyne won't be punished for not signing for Liverpool yet and is treated as the best English RB should be.
I have been fortunate to visit Rwanda in recent times - a beautiful country that has gone through a lot of reconciliation that the world press has mostly ignored. They hate the French with a passion as the perpetrators of the genocide. The French still want to prosecute their president because he had the audacity to defeat their colonial machinations. Oh - feel better for that little rant!! Go see the gorillas (and they do live in the mists).
This is more clueless IMO. And now we have a new savoir in Stirling, well, that's the freakin icing on the turd cake for me.
I've watched Sterling (and Zaha) do the same for the U21s when Shaw (when still with us) made runs down the left wing. Just infuriating to watch. It's either selfishness, or a feeling that because the guy making the overlap is playing for a 'lesser' club then they're a 'lesser' player, so holding onto the ball is the better option. Or both.
I only watched the last 10 minutes of the first half, then I went to something more useful like watching the hair on my chest grow. One funny bit I bit see was Ryan shouting on a close up "Adz, Adz" and beckoning him a bit closer. Guess where the ball went, but not twatbeard
The Beeb have actually written an article about how boring it was: please log in to view this image http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33041335
That's me in the bottom right. Slept through at least 60 minutes, only woke up at the final whistle. Still, at least the fans behaved themselves.
