After watching that game though isn't it clear there's a gulf of difference between a striker who's a big fish in a small provincial East Anglian pond and world class players like the majority of the Man City side?

you're right Hamps, god it's so obvious i cant believe no one else has realised it.

England should take the Argentinian team to the euros!

And how does the big fish in a small pond work exactly? He's scored or played well against Man U, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and many other 'big ponds'.

Surely scoring against Big pond teams with only 'small pond' support and supply is even more impressive?

Who would you take instead, Carroll? His inability to play with any consistent success is surely even more shameful based on the money and talent behind him?

Oh ssshush battersea stop talking sense!

Looks like I've hit a nerve there <whistle>

I can understand you wouldn't want a Town fan here after such a humiliating defeat but I just wanted to see whether you still believe he could be an international player...

God you're trying hard aren't you? We lost to a team that cost so much to assemble it even makes your debt look like peanuts. For 75 minutes we were well in it, so no, not humiliating, but a harsh score for the game played, as agreed by every match report i've seen, and indeed every pundit.

Whats more we had a full house to support our players. Can you say you had the same last home game? ( not by a long stretch- you had 60% attendance! Now thats humiliating)

Edit- although i've got to respect your perseverence Hamps, god loves a trier, and you're very trying!

battersea I don't think the scoreline was harsh (on evidence of highlights) You were defending as befitting a Norwich side, which was pleasing.

OK i admit it, 1-6 was a very embarrassing result. Sure Man City are good, and they did beat Man U by the same margin, and they may have handpicked some of the best strikers in the world, and sure, they've won 13 games this season by 3 or more goals, but they're not that great.

They're certainly no Peterborough!

Look, I'm sure 'Hampy' is racking that low IQ brain for a suitable comeback, but I have no wish to get involved in extended dialogue with him. I hate this tit-for-tat ****.

This is a guy who went into a major sulk over something he didn't like, and disappeared for weeks, if not months.

Run along sonny, this is no place for you. <ok>

The trouble with wockney canker is that he starts these banter posts but ends up crying like a little girly baby:emoticon-0106-cryin.

She should be more worried about her own debt ridden and declining club instead of trying to talk big with an established premiership club whose business plan and recent achievements are the envy of every other similar sized club in the country

Frankly her banter is plain embarrassing.

<doh>

OK... some obviously don't have a sense of humour and would prefer to remain in their dark, damp, grey corner of Norfolk in isolation. Cheerio lads.

Like it! <laugh>

Hampy's now talking to imaginary friends on the binner board. (sad but true)

<laugh> Got to respect your loyalty Beefy <ok>

not just loyalty mate Beef is right, Hart was not impressive virtually every kick went into the crowd, Barry was poor and I did not notice Joihnson til he scored. They were an amazing team though and god knows how many they could put by your lot, would be in double figures by half time.
Anyway back on topic Holt has to go out there for England for his leadership and drive alone without him England dont stand a chance OTBC!

I think holt has done a fantastic job for us. There is no getting away from the fact he is a norwich hero. But i dont think he will get a game for england. With the likes of Defoe crouch wellbeck sturridge rooney in the team who would you leave out. I dont think England play the typical 'number 9' way which is why i dont believe thet bent or carroll have really shone at international level. Plus we all have watched Euro footie and the refs arent as lienient as they are in England. I feel holt would get sent off and booked too many times. The only player who i think should get in the england team is Ruddy, No he not better than Hart but is better than stockdale and carson.
