There was discussion the other day about the forward / goalscorer options that England could harvest from the PL or below.

Why isn't Ashley Barnes already a regular in the squad? He's looked good for a couple of seasons and has been sensational at times this.

Who has he upset? Or is he just at the wrong club?

Just seen that he is in the thoughts of the current Austrian coach. Despite the u20 cap for them in 2008, would be still be eligible for England at Senior level?
This nationality/age thing confuses the feck out of me! <laugh>

He's declared he wants to play for Austria, which rules him out of an England call-up.

I can't wait for the TalkBALLS phone-ins to be up in arms that somebody wouldn't want to play for the nation of his birth, somehow all conveniently forgetting the Canadian-born Welshman Owen Hargreaves receiving 42 England caps...
