I rate him as a manager and like him as a person but a German as England manager doesn’t sit right with me at all.
Why?
It's a game of football, not a D-Day memorial.

I mean I could do without the tuneless parping that sounds sort of like the Dambusters March...Are they still going to sing 10 German bombers and 2 -0 to the Engerlaaand i wonder
So by definition, you'd never accept a former manager of Arsenal or Chelsea as Spurs manager, regardless of how successful and what great great guys they were?International rivalry. Germany are our biggest rivals.
Growing up I remember seeing England knocked out of multiple major tournaments by the Germans. Nothing against Tuchel personally (previously said I’d take him at Spurs) but as England manager it’s a no no imo.

Seems like we’ve gone for a more pragmatic approach again, Tuchel’s an excellent tactician and he’s mixed up his football over the years but he does have history of rubbing people up the wrong way. Generally done excellent wherever he’s managed, last season at Bayern was more down to Alonso and Leverkusen being superb than him not doing a good enough job I’d say but at Bayern if you don’t win the league you’ll always be negatively viewed.
I do share some of King’s views in that having a Gerry in charge feels a bit “eurgh” but ultimately no one will care if he brings success to the country and he’s a manager that could potentially do that if the players buy into him.
