Currently 4-1 with the fourth being assisted by Udogie: https://streamff.com/v/81cc241c
Not sure that's who he was aiming for, to be honest.

The goal Vicario conceded was straight from a corner: https://streamff.com/v/67f7e220
Abu Fani, who played against us recently for Ferencvaros.
Clearly blocked off and it's an ongoing issue.

Spurs need an upgrade on Vicario asap for me. Good at shot stopping but a liability at set pieces and average at everything else. Opponents will continue to target him because it’s an easy way to score.

All we need is Bournemouth to score a goal that exact way against Liverpool and the Premier League will clamp down in it ASAP

That doesn’t help that Vicario is a liability at set pieces. Huge weakness and at his age it’s not something he is likely to improve on. You would have thought Spurs scouts would have flagged this issue when looking at him.

If anything I think it's a systemic issue with how we're set up to defend corners

The first break in the chain is losing Harry Kane, as he was unsung for being an asset when dealing with corners
The second is Richarlison not being in the team, as he too was an asset in clearing corners which Sonny simply isn't
The third is Mickey Van being oddly weak in the air, which is presumably why Dragusin was brought in

It's similar to David James' issues with corners when at Liverpool which didn't seem to be anywhere near the issue it was at any of the clubs he played for afterwards, as the way Liverpool set up for corners sort of mirrored ours as they had at least one CB who was weak in the air (Phil Babb immediately springs to mind) while they didn't have cover from one of the forwards dropping back as Stan Collymore couldn't be arsed

Thomas Tuchel in talks with the FA to become England manager.

I'm not sure why they aren't going all out to get Guardiola at the end of the season.

Bergvall returns from international duty with a minor injury.........which means he will be back in the new year by our previous experience

I think that we just need him to be ultra-aggressive on these set-pieces and see what happens.
Other keepers appear to be allowed to do whatever they like and it would be interesting to see the contrast.

His defenders failed him miserably for that Italy goal, in my opinion.
There are two or maybe even three opponents who can get to him without a defender getting near them.

It’s gone beyond that for me. It happens to him far too often and become a major problem for club and now country.

His defenders have players to mark, they can’t be worried about their keeper too. He needs to be stronger instead of a victim.

It's absolutely standard now to have a defender block the blocker on corners. That goal is a great example of why.

Plays negative football, falls out with everyone and fails to win a trophy despite Kane scoring 44 goals in 45 games. Perfect. <ok>

I can't see this working out, nor taking very long for that to unfold. Sir Alf Ramsey apart, the more 'successful' of England's coaches have fostered a united dressing room as a central part of their approach.

Next......

Tuchel's official, according to the BBC.
He’s probably the best available candidate, but who knows how good these managers are when they have to cope with the unique demands of international football. No transfers, battling with clubs over availability and game time and the realisation that some players are not as good as their club form suggests because de Bruyne (and countless others you could mention at this point) are not English and are therefore unavailable to play alongside them.
And some will be frothing at the mouth because he’s German.
